My fam doc has referred me to this place to see Dr.Naushad. Was wondering if someone could tell me a little about him. Does he keep you on your meds and/or does he do injections or nerve blocks?Does he actually LISTEN to his patients or does he come off somewhat arrogantly?

i saw a different doc who prescribed neurontin at a low dose. it helped me. no shots, although that's what he wanted to do the follow up visit. i said wait - these pills are helping. he wanted then to increase the dose. i said no, these are doing the trick. he wrote me a script for the original dosage and said i didn't need to see him any more. my primary care giver writes the scripts now. sometimes you have to be emphatic about treatment. good luck to all. nobody understands unless they've experienced chronic pain over a period of years.

I went there for a herniated disc. They listened to me and did not put me on pain meds besides the low dose Vicodin I was on from my family doc. We tried the injections and they worked. he did not make me take the 3rd injection when I stated that I didn't want to and told me to come back if I started having more pain, but that the shots, neurontin, and occasional pain medicine should do the trick. I'm off the neurontin and only take pain medicine in the rare case that my back hurts severely. I've had a 30 day supply of my pain medicine for 2 1/2 months now...and it's only 1 pill a day.
I think each patient has their own experience and their expectations and demands come into play, along with their attitude. Good luck. |

And that is why he asks the patient to have a driver. Each person is different and some people's pain went away quickly and others may take a little longer. |

My mom goes to Poplar Bluff to see a pain management doctor and he has her on patches which work really well. Problem is she has broken her ankle (fell while coming into the house after a regular doctor's appointment) and the ride to PB will be too rough on her.
My question is will the doctor at the APC keep her on the same routine? She been on all the pills and they either made her feel awful or they didn't control the pain. We do not want to go down the pill road again. Thanks |

I was on those ain patches too but they can be dangerous as well. Started having swelling and yep it was the pain patch it can also cause a heart attack. At least the ones I had. |

I was referred to the pain management clnic and they have been very good to me. The doctor listens to me and I have done the injections and they help me. When you get them, you have to do what he says, go home and rest and don't do any heavy lifting or bending or stooping and always have a driver with you. They give you medication to take and they do a urine test frequently but if you do what you are suppose to do you have nothig to worry about. You just need to be sure you tell hm everything so he will know what to prescribe. If it doesn't work don't be afraid to tell him. He is there to help you. I think he is a good doctor and his staff is wonderful. They are very friendly and courteous and make you feel like you are someone and not just someone trying to get medication. If you are having problems I would at least give him a try or at least go talk with him and see what he can t you.
