If I have to go to my in-laws and eat my mother-in-law's very dry & overseasoned with sage and celery dressing, I will cry. I have not had Thanksgiving with my side of the family in several years--I miss the traditional foods of my family. I have tried to take some of these to my in-laws but my mother-in-law will not serve them or announces to everyone "well, I had enough. We didn't need that out!"
If I get to stay home, I will cook:
turkey & dressing (moist dressing)
sweet potato casserole
sweet corn
green bean casserole
yeast rolls
cranberry salad
pumpkin pie
carrot cake

well you could have a helping I am sure of the banana pudidng but you would have to fight hubby for all of it and as far as the left overs go no plastic bags or plastic containers allowed........ thats the only reason I cook a bg dinner that day, so the next 3 days I don't have to cook! LOL
You have a recipe for that bannana pudding? Never knew how difficult it was to get a recipe until I started wanting to make it and can't find a recipe anywhere

Not really a recipe and it is simple for sure. layers of cookies, layer of bananas and another layer of cookies then whip the INSTANT pudding and pour over the layers then just repeat until you have the size of pudding you want.

I am sure you could goggle recipes for banana pudding and find HUNDREDS of different ways to fix it.

I am making my homemade cranberry sauce. Turkey and Cornbread Dressing, Layered Salad, Mashed Potatoes ( real potatoes - not instant), Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans cooked with Bacon and onion, and I think my mom is bringing a small bone in ham. I am making homemade yeast rolls too.
Homemade pumpkin roll, sweet potato pie, Banana split cake.

My sister n law makes white bread stuffing with mushrooms and sausage in it. It is awful. But she says she likes it better than the cornbread Dressing.

Well, usually I cook a big traditional turkey dinner, but this year, I've been requested to only make my potato salad.

Heading north, via NC to join little sister, then head on farther north to my kid brother's home in the Great Smokey Mountains of VA. to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving there.

Pretty much what everyone else has mentioned except for the turkey because I don't eat meat. I'm also having sweet potatoes though!!!! Love them!
Copious amounts of sweet taters can become more than a bit odoriferous later, make sure the guests leave early and, at beddy time, keep your head from beneath the covers.1506

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Aquarius

Money is a source of friction between you and friends now, so treat it with caution and respect. There could be a disagreement between you and a chum about a possession or a debt that one of you owes the other. If you're trying to organize a forthcoming social event, you could come unstuck when working out how much it's all going to cost because it might be far too expensive.
