All B.S. If it was really valuable, do you think you could buy them for less than 50 bucks online?

The original medals to be produced were to be made of gold and silver, as well as being encrusted with jewels.
Since U.S. soldier are prohibited from being enriched by outside governments, the Saudi government had the "normal" medals made of non-precious metals and without the stones.
It was my understanding that a VERY few of these were allowed to make it through, and only to very high ranking persons. They were still unauthorized and could never be worn officially.
The likelihood that the number of original medals mentioned in this thread is extremely unlikely.
This doesn't mean that medals allowed in another country could not be obtained.

During the first Gulf War soldiers, airmen, sailors where given a Gulf War Liberation medal made of real Arabia gold and silver. This medal was given to them by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by King Fahd. This medal as of today’s date in “2011” is worth at a minimum around ten thousand dollars ($10,000 U.S.) for the gold, silver and historical value of the medal. It is estimated that the value of this medal will increase drastically up to more than fifty thousand dollars over the next several years. These medals are the ultimate find for any collector in the United States or abroad. To own one of these medals intact with the original green box and ribbon is a true prize to anyone. The original medal is considered one of the most valued military medals of its kind and a true collector’s item to say the least.

Hi, I also have the Kuwaiti Liberation medal issued in Saudi Arabia. Do you know how to find the value or where to sell? Thanks!

Had mine tested about 2 months ago and found out the gold part is 10k gold and white part is 22k gold. I was in the Navy and received one I also was curious and found the truth, still have mine but gold is at 1,700 ounce looks like I'll replace the real with a fake and sell the real...

If memory serves, there were only 10,000 of them issued in the original batch. That's all that was approved by the king. If you didn't receive yours from that initial batch, then you were issued a replica. It probably did not come in one of the green medal display cases I read about somewhere else on this forum. Those are the ones that are selling for between $15 - $50.

I too would like to know the truth. I was there with 3/502 INF REG. 101 AIR BORNE DIVISION. I was recently informed that the Liberation of Kuwait medal was worth at least $5.000. The person who told me was interviewing me for a job with GE. He told me he wouldn't sell his, but I thought since I was unemployed that I might consider it.
The one I have is still in the original green box with the ribbon and it has Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on it.
Do I really have something here or is this all a bunch of bologna?
The key is the green box. That differentiates the originals from the replicas.

I went to a Jeweler today 05/30/12 and had my medal tested and found out that is was plated and only worth the box it was put in. I was in the 82nd 319th afar and was over in Saudi from aug2 when the war started til mar 23.....We were told the medals had gold in them and was very excited to receive them but now it seems that the excitement for me has turn to disgust because i felt we were lied to about the trinkets that we received instead of the 10,000 thousand dollars the King Faud wanted to give us and Bush refused to allow us to have. They say we put our lives on the line for freedom but we all know it was the oil which we are still fighting for and will contiune to fight for it until we come up with and alternate energy.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Gemini

You're in a warm-hearted and generous mood today, especially when dealing with loved ones and members of the family. You want to give them as much of your time as possible, and also to do anything else that will keep them happy. The only snag will come if you're trying to spread yourself too thin and you end up making promises that will be difficult, if not impossible, to keep. You may forget all about them but other people won't.
