to the dozen or so comments that were here yesterday? I have noticed that the powers at "bee" take arbitrary license to suddenly remove all comments on some threads. Usually there is a suspension of the ability to comment any longer. What is going on? There were some legitimate points being made in the comments about the KUSD school calendar. I don't understand why they have disappeared. I did not see any abusive remarks as of 6pm Friday night. What happened?

how much longer will it be before we have "summer" vacation from Thanksgiving until the middle of January so that the migrant workers can go back to Mexico. It seems that that is what the teachers are pushing for because so many children are leaving and they are loosing the ADA and then the kids have horrible test scores.

They had to remove them - some of them encouraged a longer school year and better educated masses. That would be deadly to 'newspapers' like the RB.

Fortunately the chances of kids getting a good education in Lake County are nil.

my youngest daughter graduated this year as valedictorian at KVHS, she's now at Davis taking hard pre-med courses and getting straight As, that's pretty solid evidence that you can get a good education here as she started and finished at KV and now is at the top of her class in one of the best universities in the world-that's not good enough?

Phil - when that becomes the norm and not the exception THEN that will be good enough for me.

my point is even here in the sticks you can get a decent education in spite of having idiots for parents and small schools with limited resources, my daughter is proof of the fact that there are some VERY good teachers here.

Kudos to your daughter, you must be very proud of her. We were lucky with the teachers here, we are proud of our kids too. However, if the parents are not involved (too self involved with god knows what) the children are not encouraged at home. Puts a heavy load on the teachers. In spite of rotten parents, miracles do happen, just not often enough. Each and every child deserves a great education, and great parents.

Phil, you forget that you daughter has a very strong motivation: to move on and get the hell away from you. You have an opinion on everything man. You are pretty much a professional know it all. I think I know something you don't know and here it is: People get sick and tired of know it all's like you and get sick and tired of hearing your opinion on everything under the sun. So for sure you have an opinion on this and we will wait to read it. But bet I'm right on the strong motivation theory.

Kimber, that's unkind. I get a kick out of some of Phil's posts. We ALL have opinions and are judgemental. Even you!

if you someday grow yourself a pair of balls then check back in with us, until then no one gives a poop what someone hiding under a rock thinks. I'm sorry that I know so much that it makes you feel as small and insignificant as you certainly are, maybe if you paid attention you'd have a clue as to what's going on around you and have an opinion about it too, but again, no one cares what someone ashamed of who they are thinks.
