I think these women are awesome !!!!! If I wasn't sick and weak and could hold up a bike and ride, I would ride with them. I don't have breast cancer, But my grandmother did. She had one breast removed. Because of it. My thoughts and prayers are with all of them...

Except for the "Suck it up" comment related to speed, this was a great story. People should not be pushed beyond their experience especially in strange territory. That is how fatalities occur. People should ride their own ride, even in a group.
Lake County has a fairly large and growing population of woman riders. Sometimes it seems like half the riders. GOOD GOING LAKE COUNTY WOMEN!!!!

"Survival" how great to have such powerful FAITH. It was so encouraging to me, having my daughter be involved and share a common focus with such amazing women. I love how they can reach and go places to help others. They are victorious women. It is emotional, crazy, hard and life changing to go through a battle with cancer or witness it first hand, but I have seen the positive outcome from women giving and caring like them. I want a Harley, and when my daughter gets older we can take a ride with Amazon Heart.

<quoted text>You just couldn't help yourself could you? Just had to add your negative comment. Nothing about their commitment, or contribution to their cause. It must really hurt you to see others involved and supporting such a worthy cause. It's a good thing there were no typo's or you would have corrected them too. You should "Suck it up" You come across like a teacher grading papers.
You're full of yourself! I have BEEN involved in MANY charities INCLUDING rides. I imagine your are one of those who like to press others on to their deaths. How many crashes have YOU had caused by you? IF YOU READ my my comment I said it was a great story, and (not to please you, but to clear the 'air', typos aren't an issue as they may be with you since YOU mentioned them.) YOU need to get a grip and REALIZE people are DYING riding too fast.#1 cause-riding beyond their abilities. Why does this happen? PEER pressure and trying to keep up with a road captain not sensitive to their riders. Like the guy for example who died on Butt's Canyon. I SAW that group go buy. The last and poorest rider-crashed on curve (and died) KEEPING UP IN STRANGE TERRITORY. Why don't YOU go to some women's MC forums and see how much they agitate AGAINST pushing people, AGAINST telling them to suck it up, as if the road captain/ride organizer was going to die for them, or pay for their families for the rest of their lives. A good thing is a good thing, but a BETTER thing is a safe thing AND good. No-following just because, is NEVER a good thing on it's own. It's great people are riding for causes (I do as well, and prefer it)but there is room for improvement and until it does, there will be people pushing the envelope FOR safety, with good causes not an excuse for poor judgment.

That is great-I might join too-but ride your own ride-be safe, don't get pressured into going faster than you can manage yourself.

I do have to say, in view of the controversy I was enthralled myself until I read the "suck it up" comment. It is an uphill battle to promote safety over bravado and ego. There IS too much pressure to be unsafe and charitable groups would do well to lead the way.

Truly inspiring. Meeting new friends globally, having support, and riding for a most important cause.....priceless! Amazing how some can turn this truly positive event into a negative, they missed the point entirely!

No one missed the point except suck it up and you. I had the pleasure of watching them from my house and was very enthused. Until I saw the "suck it up" comment. THAT mentality has literally a fatal flaw being fought by many in the motorcycle community-especially the women's community. No name is right. The story was a nice story. Cancer rides and charities are less harmed by warnings about riding, than WHEN not if, someone eventually crashes and dies sucking it up on a curve they can't maneuver. It has happened too many times already and supporting a bad attitude because they were doing something for a cause has got to stop. SAFETY FIRST. Would you let the boy scouts sell M80's because they're doing it for a good cause????

Rediculous analogy! Let's get real. Of course SAFETY should be the number one priority, I do not dispute that....no one in their right mind would debate that. I do think it's sad though how easy it is for some to immediately jump on the Negative train. The point of this story is that women who went to hell and back...."survivors" were able to take back their power (Cancer can rob them of some power) they were able to come together in the face of adversity, support one another (let's not forget those that are still dealing with breast cancer) and raise funding for this deadly illness....while living life and having fun! How can that be anything short of fantastic??? Enough said. Glass half full vs. Glass half empty....it's all about attitude.

Taking back power is also about not being pushed around and being expected to suck it up.

I should add that taking back power is also about not being pushed around by a ride captain. It is NOT fun to ride too fast for yuor comfort. Anyone I've ever known who did-swears they'll never do it again, and most stay completely away from groups. Me, I ride my ride as we all should. Groups ride-occasionally-do I care if they go fast/slow? No-I do what I do, when I lead, I watch out for everyone, and force no one. So far no one has refused to ride again.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Libra

If someone owes you money and you're beginning to think that you'll never get it back, this is an excellent day to chase them up. They may not cave in straightaway but at least you'll have had your say and done what you can. Watch out for a tendency to lose your temper, because although this could be quite dramatic if you're usually the soul of equanimity it could work against you if you become aggressive or unpleasant.
