This was the article about the resort being sold in Aug. 2010!

Have to agree, sounds good, but where are the jobs for locals, and there doesn't seem to be much progress on the place!

I haven't heard of any events going on there either.

I don't get it, the site list membership at $9950 for one week or $17,500 for two weeks, includes all membership privileges.

Is this a joke?

Don't know anyone who would pay $9,950 for one week or $17,500 for two weeks for a dilapidated under construction resort. They still have chain link fencing and tarps on the main resort roof for the second winter!

The "Testimonials" from the site are from those who visited in the 50's and 60's, nothing from any new costumers.

It list accommodations as "Main Lodge" which still looks under construction, "Coffee Shop & Restaurant", which no we know has seen or been in.

There is a locked construction type fence around the place at all times. And the site also says, "There isnít a day that passes by at Hobergís Club Resort without some spectacular event taking place." Where are the people from these events parking? On the highway?

Locals drive by several times a day and rarely see anything going on there!

Hmmm?

Yup, I saw a flash of construction going on in the summer & fall and since, it looks like things have ground to a halt! Several of the buildings have been gutted and are open to the elements. I drive by it everyday and had high hopes but looks to me like the money has run out and they're trying to boost it w/ the timeshare angle...Good luck w/ that!

Problem is, they only have empty dreams & broken promises...can't even pay the employees who have done work for this property ! Electricity turned off for lack of payment .....how can they sell shares & advertise on their web site for employees when they can't pay the employees who have worked for them in the past ?

Dan Nelson is a crook and con-artist. He has people work for him at the resort as long as he can string them along, then after promise after promise of payment, never coming to fruition, they quite. He owes several people, including myself, several thousand dollars. If you meet him, you will think he is the greatest guy ever. The man can talk a good talk, but he is a liar and a crook.
Con artist he is

He is advertising for employees now at the Loch Lomond store and hasn't even paid his previous employees ! The people who would apply are people who need to be paid for working, not strung along as this person does to all who work for him !

i am not really sure why you were not paid i have been working for Hobergs on and off for over a year. I drive in from the south bay to work occasional weekends and have always been paid. Dan is not my favorite guy to work for, but he has always paid me and everyone we have brought up. I know they have struggled with lack of financing and heard they are moving forward with the build really soon.

Here's where it's at, I have heard of several other locals that have been beat by these jokers! More lawsuits a coming and very little progress.

Is the manager Dan E. Nelson the same guy Dan Teree who owns the website where you buy tickets for the concerts on the Hobergs club website? They look like the same guy. Though it was hard to find a picture of Nelson except the one in the RB.

OK I did about six hours of work, but as soon as I asked to be paid, no more emails from Dans man David. And several other people who were suppose to play music or sponsors had dropped out of their event but he was still claiming that they were going to be part of their event. Everyone said don't trust them, and as soon as they too asked to be paid, they to could not get ahold of anyone from Hobergs resort. The local venders refused to prepay this guy and his rep. For their booths because of their reputation. So no surprise, the Event this weekend has been removed from their events on their website again! I think these guys have burned too many bridges! It looks like a little work is being don in the place but it makes you wonder every time you see some new person doing repairs if they are going to be stiffed by these guys too.
