"Nope. I'm no cop. Just someone who finds Rey to be a liar and a child predator." Nice try, but your a cop. I must ask, when was the trial? You say the accused is a liar and a child predator. Well, everyone is liar, so that doesn't really mean anything, but I am curious about your predator comment. please tell us when the trial occurred and what the outcome was. I can't find anything on the net.

You are all f-ing twisted! Officer Pret, posting on a blog is not a crime so it does not matter who you are and no one cares. How many people have to tell you that? You are not important. "Enough Already," this case has already been reported in New Mexico (tv and newspaper) and the neighbors of the accused witnessed the FBI house raid, so publicity is a moot point. BTW, why are YOU still here (and posting, I might add)? EVERYONE - The case is over, the accused was never put on trial. He is now (reportedly) quite ill and his demise is immenent. So, LEOs, it seems as though the accused in this case has already been served a death sentence. Satisfied? If not, I suggest you get some counseling. Move along now. You all make me sick.

The US constitution and supported by federal and local law, prohibits discussion, in any forum, electronic or other media by individuals with a "vested interest in any criminal action, that may influence or prejudice any potential juror." You know who you are and there will be no discussion about an ongoing investigation. Sorry.

Shouldn't your screen name be Plot? Seems to me that all of you LEOs in Utah are obsessed with plotting and planning to destroy this man's life.

I have a better paying job unrelated to law enforcement. I'm only a concerned citizen wondering why a Major would try to approach a teen female via the internet.

"All law enforcement social media policies address what any social media policy should address as well as include things that are more important because of the expectations of law enforcement officers to adhere to higher standards. All general social media policies include: 1. taking personal responsibility for the content a person publishes, 2. identifying oneself in all transactions, 3. using disclaimers to absolve the department of responsibility, 4. respect for the audience, and 5. being factual. Additionally, all standard social media policies address 6. copyright, 7. fair use, and 8. privacy. Because cops are made to adhere to a higher moral standard and because there’s an inherent fear among cops about new technology and change, but also because so much benefit can be realized by law enforcement agencies by using social media tool, extra emphasis is needed in some areas of a good social media policy. Law Enforcement specific policies should also address: 1. extra emphasis on integrity, 2. extra emphasis on the use of disclaimers, 3. extra emphasis on stating one’s identity as a member of the agency, 4. distinguish between department-sanctioned social media tools and those that are not sanctioned by the department, 5. competence and knowledge about any social media tool one engages in, 6. extra responsibility on the part of the command staff and 7. an offer to provide training to alleviate fear and provide a comfort level with using the technology.

Yeah right. Blame your fetish on a virus. Actually, just do like Rey. Find a young girl on the internet, ask her on a date, meet her at the mall and enjoy. What a scumbag.

Just trying to show you the lengths LEOs will go to in order to make an arrest and prove to the public that they are "tough on crime". What a waste of money! Some of us are not fooled by your false display of "protecting the children", we know it is a ruse. By the way, let's look at the flip side of this situation, do you really think that a grown man (police task force officer) who sits behind a computer all day pretending to be a teenage girl so he can engage in internet sex chats with other grown men is normal? What kind of sicko job is that? Do you have to be homosexual to apply? Again, I must ask you: when was the majors trial? When was he convicted? We are coming upon the thrid anniversary of his arrest and still no trial, no conviction - just a slanderous, libelous smear campaign on some hack blog website. Get a life, Clearfield BJ.
