This is some BS! Pretty Ricky always does things for kids and charities so i'm not understanding why this lady is bashing them over a misunderstanding! This is totally wrong!!! I don't agree with what this lady is saying at all!!

Good for Ms. Davis, it is a shame that pretty ricky misrepresented themselves.The band probably gets by with this kind of ransom! So good for her for calling them out.

They act like they deserved something when it was a NON PROFIT event. They should have thought about the kids rather than themselves, their not even that big.

I was there and it was a disappointment. But like Mrs. Davis says, it was not about Pretty Ricky, it was about the fundraiser. Regardless if the group came in or not, the show was still fun and enjoyable for everyone who was there. Do another fundraiser soon!!!:)

I think it's ashame that the group doesn't know about charity events and giving back to the children. These are their fans the people who support their music and play a very important part in their well being. Miss Davis is a very dedicated person who by choice gives everything she has for the community youth not just the ones in her group (The Gateway Highsteppers) but any child that needs her help . I am very disapointed in the group Pretty Ricky!!! I have a 14year old daughter myself who was a fan of the group but has told me that she is very upset now and that wont work for me. Mr upset

Okay so, the person who made the comment about the "misunderstanding" is sadly mistaken. I am one of the squad leaders for the Gateway Highsteppers Drill Team. None of us even knew that they were coming. It was kept a secret because, just like Ms. LaVeda said, it was supposed to be a surprise for us because we've been putting in a lot of work to organize our annual competition. What Ms. LaVeda fails to mention, due to a great deal of tact on her part, are the comments made by their father and the owner of Bluestars Records. He told Ms. LaVeda that they didn't need the support of a country hicktown like Kansas City (with a few added expletives).
So I say, why, Kansas City, should WE support a group who doesn't even WANT our support? Our show went on, Pretty Ricky or not, but we don't have to take this type of abuse from them because they're "celebrities." Besides, no one listens to them anymore since Pleasure left the group!

Did they forget where they come from. They used to have to perform for free and not get paid. Why come you can't do it for charity sometimes!
