Where is the best place to meet people in kalispell

...yes we enjoyed it back when it was a NICE and slow town ......you could drive down main street and recognize most of the people you would see...

the bestplace to hunt is over in star meadows and around whitefish area. I would prefer all over the flathead valley is good.

My husband and I moved to kalispell a few mos. ago. We are retired . We grew up in Nebraska.We moved out here to be closer to some of our family members.We found out by joining a church, and a few organizations we could meet people.We figured we could either sit at home and feel sorry for ourselves, or we could go to the people to meet them.We chose the latter. It seems like we have been accepted pretty well.Try not to have alot of expectations or you can get very frustrated.We are not poor, but we're far from being rich.Good luck!

I truly sympathise with the people who are being victimized by the wealthy who are driving up the prices on most everything on Mt.
We can't build a Chinese Wall in Mt....the rich will just buy it anyway!
I would like to see some justice provided for residents of Mt. who can prove they have lived in the state all of their lives...maybe huge tax reliefs. Then again, the wealthy capitalizers may well be lifetime residents as well. I don't think they mind preying on their own. Hopefully not too many.

I just moved here (Kalispell) and personally, I don't like it too much. The job market here is pretty much the worst I've ever seen. For example I just saw a job being a Paralegal for only $16/hr! In my hometown being a Paralegal averaged about $70/hr. It seems like in order to actually have a good income in Montana, it's either own your own business or bust.

I am one of those "Transplants" your talking about. 8 years ago before I became a "transplant" I was here for months fighting the fires of 2000. I left Montana after the fires went home and packed my stuff and was back here 2 weeks later. There's a difference between a "Transplant" that has moved here for all of the obvious reasons, and a "Transplant" that moved California to Montana. Majority of the people here are wanting to turn our Montana into another Jackson Hole Wyoming, or a countryfied Los Angeles. I for one wish Montanans would quit selling real estate and property to out of stater's....Kalispell is nothing more than a mini Missoula.....so now you know how Missoula got it's "Zoo" name.
Where I live here in Coram, I live in the woods, only go shopping when and if I have too. Malls??? I haven't been in one since 2002, and probably and hopefully won't go into one again. I would rather give my money to the Mom and Pop stores that have helped make Montana what it is.
