Led Zeppelin facts:
. Both Led Zeppelin and the Beatles are the only bands ever to go diamond on 6 of their albums . Led Zeppelin was the band who took the number #1 spot away from the Beatles in 1969 . Other than the Beatles--Led Zeppelin has sold more albums than any other rock band in history . Led Zeppelin Pioneered Stadium tours . Led Zeppelin was dubbed the band who started Heavy Metal music by a music critic reviewing their music back in early 1969. The term heavy metal was the critics way of describing the song Communication Breakdown. No one had ever heard the term prior to then. Sorry Sabbath fans--but Zep got their first. . Led Zeppelin plays everything from hard rock to the most beautiful accoustical music ever written. They play the blues, and even a bit of country. . Unlike most bands, every album has a whole new sound . Whenever todays rock musicians take a vote on who was the most influential rock band of all time--LED ZEPPELIN is the answer Face haters--Led Zeppelin kicks your favorite bands ass! |

I have always loved Zeppelin, but I can see why people will prefer the Beatles, Stones, The Who, Floyd - we're talking about music that has no expiry date and bands that we will never come across again. Long Live REAL music - classic rock and roll.

Led Zeppelin probably had the most variety of music. I hate when people only consider them hard rock, when they have songs like "Going to California", "That's The Way", or "Tangerine". Led Zeppelin is the only band I've heard that make me feel weird inside. Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones all had good songs but none make me feel the same as Zeppelin. To be honest I think most of Pink Floyds songs sound the same. Led Zeppelin was it's own style not metal, it was Led Zeppelin, the greatest band EVER no one comes close.

I recognise all them that played a role in the evolution of Rock. But I have to give it to Led Zep and then a distant second would be U2.
Floyd, The who, the Beatles, The stones... all an arguable tie with U2 as number 2. |

you bet your ass they were. and always will be. period.

The doors are good but man led Zeppelin kicked ass. If you listen to how many more to edit is just killer way better than any DC. Kansas is also good. |

Judged: 1 They did not invent Heavy Metal (Black Sabbath did), they did not pioneer Eastern mysticism into Rock music (The Beatles did), they were not the first big band to come up with satanic references (The Rolling Stones were), they were not the first band to perform legendary live presentations (The Who and Jimi Hendrix did it many years before them) and they were not the first band to get into experimentalism (Pink Floyd did it long before them). Besides, they are the music artists most accused of plagiarism ever. Not to mention that, although they were very good instrumentalists, their songwriting ability was nothing compared to Lennon/McCartney (widely rearded as the best songwriting duo ever, by the way). To me, they'll always be the most overrated band ever, both in terms of innovation and musically, with annoying cliche nonsense pseudo-intellectual lyrics, irritating out of tune screaming, boring half an hour random guitar/drum solos, repetitive riffs and songs and very few good tunes on their albums. There's so much exaggeration (in every way) surrounding that band that it's unbelievable. The Beatles and The Rolling Stones will always be widely regarded by the critics as the greatest bands ever and I'm glad they are so. Led Zeppelin would come in third place, as you can tell by all the rankings and lists. |

Pink Floyd are great, the who are great, the doors are great, the stones are great, the Beatles are great, but Led Zeppelin are the best. Led Zeppelin always did good albums compare to pink Floyd who suck without Roger Waters. The Doors did good songs, but nothing near led zeppelin. Almost the half of the Beatles song werent good they only fill the albums. The stones were good in the 60's and in the beginning of the 70's. How many band were influenced by led zeppelin? Yes they took blues songs and lyrics but everybody do this and they made very great songs with them. Led Zeppelin were the best. That's it nothing to argue. Jimmy the second best guitarist (after Hendrix), Bonham's the best drummer ever, Plant is one of the 5 best singer ever and JPJ is in my opinion the best bassist with Geddy Lee. All in the same band. All good songs. All good albums. 1968-1980 but still the best and always be the best.
