All those whose taxes will go up tremendously in the next few years, actually until year 2030! All those who have been lied to the past 5 plus years! I really could go on and on. Your are clueless, don't show your ignorance by posting on Topix.

Professor66441 wrote: It would be nice to see people in Junction City to refuse to pay their taxes until the present leaders have been changes. God knows we can not get any worst. People ask me why are so many people moving away from Junction City. Junk Town is living up to its name. Lets change that. Ok! Im not paying my taxes until after the next election. And if the voters re elect the same group, Ill still refuse to pay. Then Ill get a bunch of tax liens against my house and the IRS'll start stalking me, and garnish my wages. My boss will love that. My name will be in the paper and on line for all to see and Ill be humiliated publicly. Finally I'll go to jail for tax evasion. All to prove a point that I dont like the elected city commissioners. Good Idea Professor.

No, I believe they are calling for a return to basic city services, and cutting out the millions in tax breaks.

Professor66441 wrote: WTF here is the way this works. The tax payers demand the services they deserve by demanding service from the city departments. The city will realize very quickly that they can not provide the services and they will start closing programs that are not needed. When the unnessary programs have been stopped and the budject has been adjusted to stay within budget the citizens will receive better service to the nessary services. Most of our current tax money are being used for programs that only benifit a few elected officials. The common taxpayer never sees any benefit from these pet projects. It will be the pet projects that are shut down and the taxpayers will have better service. If the citizens demand the proper services the pet projects will have to go. Remember everytime the commission gives money away that is your money they are giving away. <quoted text> Thank you for the explaination, you were both eliquent and tactfull in your delivery. your plan is very basic, and relys heavily upon a common sense response from elected officals. I sappose I missed the logic originally because when considering the actions of elected officals a rarely consider common sense as an option.

I think Barnes got an off the book promise of financial support for the Opera House. He got promises from several developers, or so the story goes, in return for fast tracking infrastructure in their respective developments. Once the infrastructure was in place, no way to prove these developers didn't follow through on their pledges- hence the change from the Opera House being 100% donation restored to falling on taxpayer shoulders. Let's face it, the whole bunch has made money while in office. Dirt sold for gold prices, flipping property to the city for profits that would make Madoff proud, tax breaks galore while citizens were begging the city to slow down, arrogance beyond belief from our city hall. To me, Junction City ended up with a perfect storm of sorts, with the result being the ship is sinking under an enormous debt, and no apparent way to stop it.

First let me say Rod Barnes need to be removed from Office NOW. It is a crime to leave Rod Barnes on the payrol and making decissions for our cityy after being proven to be a lier and lieing to the frderal court. Any other city employee would have been relieved of his job ASAP after they were cought lieing to a court. We the citizens of Junction City demand better government to run our city. If the citizens have not noticied all the post that told the story about Mick Wunder and Rod Barnes have beb removed from this board to keep the public from knowing the true story.

A Class Action Suit needs to be filed against the leasders of JC for leaving Rod Barnes in office after he lies to the federal court. I guess it is hard to remove Rod Barnes when all the leaders are part of his lies. He did say he showed the bids to all the commissioners before he sealed them back up and opened then again at the meeting. That alone maked all the commissioners guilty of bid rigging. We as citizens of JC need to clean up our Government and start over. Remove them from office NOW.
