Hoping, Now that this part is over the family can move on... From experience..if its ten years or 100 years it does not make you feel better.. there is no satisfaction when you loose a loved one from such a tragic accident..prayers and peace to all involved..

The case is over in the courtroom and everyone needs to find a way to move forward. Those who can forgive Cody in some way will be able to move on with their own lives and I can't imagine that the victims would not want their loved ones and friends to be able to move forward. It's sad that people are still being disrespectful to one another almost 2 years later; it shows how much healing is still left to be done. Hopefully, his being sentenced is a step in that direction.

Worthless white trash who obviously doesn't learn from past mistakes and thinks hes above the law! Look at whats hes done. Look at the grief and wasted tax dollars. A true loser!
peanut butter, Mr. Baker is merely a symptom of our society. There's no stigma associated with a DUI. Even publishing their court proceedings in the paper does no good. If you can't shame people to behave responsibly, if you can't deter their behavior from criminal prosecution, then what do you have left to go on?

Did the guy have registration to his '91 Honda Civic? How about that being the next barrier? All first time DUI's loose the ability to hold title to an automobile and any one's car whom the "convicted" is caught driving is also punished?

There is just too much wiggle room for DUI offenders to get out from under the rock of complying with social order.

I hope that he has begged for forgiveness from God and all the families of the fatalities of that horrible crash. I also hope Cody swears off alcohol forever. If he doesn't he's a lost cause.

A blinking red light should be attached to the top of his head upon release from prison so that he can be seen coming from a distance.

It was more than a year ago when I called Cody a murderer in these comments that my post was deleted for being inappropriate. Is it OK to call him a murderer now? "MURDERER"!

Baker is sure getting off light . With a prior conviction , he should be recieving a much longer sentence. Remember the innocent victims to this terrible event.

Now remember kids, its ok to drive drunk and kill people as long as the people in your vehicle are drunk as well.

So before you get in a car, make sure everyone else is wasted so you can get a sentence as light as the PBR you're drinking.

Then, when you do get in accident and you "accidentally" kill those with you, you won't have to serve any hard time in prison.

And, if others are drunk with you in the vehicle, the community will shrug their shoulders and say: "Hey, everyone else was drunk, so it's not your fault kiddo."

Man, this case should be in Drunk Driving for Dummies under the section: What to do in case you do kill somebody.

I pray that all the families are getting the support they need. I hope everyone can now cease the need to express constant anger. The anger will not help anyone moving forward. It is not the issue of whether the passengers should share blame either as that is a truely sick discussion. It is time for forgiveness for ones own sanity. God Bless.

What a crock of crapp...This is about 1/4 of the time he should have gotten, especially when he can get out after like 4 years, for "good behavior," whatever that may be... he kills 4 people and gets to get out and live his life after just a few years, when the families of the victims have to live their sentences forever... doubtful that he won't drink anymore, it will just be a little while before he can...then we'll see how long before he drinks and drives again...so sorry for the families and their losses...

Interesting question about the civic's registration. I heard Cody's ex-girlfriend bought it for him. The ex-girlfriend is now married to Cody's brother, who you'll find on Megan's law websites.

Thanks for proving my point Mushahadeen or whatever your name is.
As long as everyone in the car is intoxicated, you you don't get charged for responsibility as much as you would if you had killed someone not in the vehicle.
As far as bottom feeders ... Cody is the ultimate bottom feeder. Bet he's good 'ol Satan's drinking buddy too.
I never said that Cody wasn't one of the bottom-feeders. In fact, that's part of the tragedy here- that Cody lived. Along those same lines, he's no worse than the kids that got in the car with him- ALL of which SURELY would have driven under the influence in one scenario or another in the future. People that ride with drunks, drive as drunks.

And maybe you should read a book- if you think that my choice of username is even remotely middle-eastern in origin. Way to be a racist, tho- way to go. In fact, you even spelled Mujahideen wrong, racist. Now you've won two points. Your third point is for attempting to show contempt for my username by using the mechanic "or whatever you name is" when it's right there in front of you to copy/paste. That's three points now, one for being ignorant, the second for being racist, and the third for being a dim-wit.

I admit, "Maud'did" is supposed to have an apostrophe, but Topix doesn't let you use them in usernames. It's the main character of a book that's sold over 12 million copies, and is the most widely-read book in the English language that's not a religious text (like the bible).

Daily Horoscope for December 18

Cancer

You'll be happiest when you're with people who make you feel loved and cherished. You'll bend over backwards to keep them sweet, and will concede arguments and disputes for the sake of peace. Try not to make it peace at any price because that could be setting up problems with people who will then try to take advantage of your good nature. Co-operation is one thing, being a doormat is quite different.
