“JUST A MOM 2009” Since: Mar 09
ARAB AL ISP: Guntersville, AL |
Hi, I am looking for a church within driving distance of Arab that is ...how should I say it...alittle more relaxed in their dress than other churches.
I have never liked wearing dresses, if I do put on a dress...I no longer even feel like myself. I feel like I am trying to pretend to be something that I am not. I do not think this is how someone should feel in church. Since leaving Fla.(16 yrs ago) I haven't found a church that didn't expect all woman to wear dresses. It is this reason that I haven't attended church in many years. I have chose to stay true in my belief , but to do so from my home. However I have 2 children that would really enjoy the youth activities that a church can provide. I also think they would benefit more if within a church setting. Does anyone know of a church within a hour drive that a woman wearing a pair of dress/casual slacks would not be frowned upon? Please let me know. I am not in any way putting down any church for the way the run things with in their church, I am not putting down any church for their belief. I am only searching for a church that like myself believes that God (higher-being etc) knows who we are as individuals and loves us still, regardless to what we are wearing at the time. Thank you for commenting. |

Hey Carryon, where in the Bible is it written than you are not supposed to smoke? Doesnt the Bible teach not to provoke you fellow Christians as I believe you are doing by posting all of your gossip and idle chatter in all the posts? Please go to church and stay of the internet.

For those of you that smoke cigarrettes or drink alcohol- Im not knocking you in my posts. Im saying it to those who are receiving any state/government assistance that can buy (cigs + beer) but cant support their priorities first.

We have a 9 a.m. informal service at First Presbyterian in Guntersville, just down the hill from Arab. The dress is casual, the music is a mixture of contemporary and traditional. We meet in the fellowship hall around tables with our kids of all ages. It is a very relaxed atmosphere. In the summer, many folks have there hair in ponytails, flip-flops on their feet, and shorts. You can look at our website at www.guntersvillepcusa.com for more information. Many of the ladies bring light breakfast foods and someone usually fires up the coffee pot, too.

I'm not familiar with "Wonderful Awanads program for children". Please tell a little about it.

Sorry, I add a d. It is "Awana Program" for children. They learn Bible verses, play games receive awards or badges for what they've learned and eat. It will really grow a church. Takes really dedicated people to work with them. Look it up on the Internet.
