I was waiting for a comment like yours. Guess you are someome who thinks their sh*t dont stink, and you prob. cant find your way out of jonesville without your gps!! You probably didn't get your school taken like these others did and have no idea how they feel, but I do know several have registered in scott co. and in wise co.so shame on lee co. for being so hasty in their decision making. I don't think they are as smart in that county as they like to think they are. And its people like you with some of your stupid comments that make look worse.

Yeah go to Wise County, because they would never consolidate schools.

I heard ole Twiggy made a hasty decision. Your vote was YES. Poor Old Twig. Dont cry about it now. I hope and pray you never have any peace of mind because you have ruin a lot of innocent lives. You took their school, their community. One day you will face your own record and only yours.

Approximately 95% of Lee County residents own a car. If we had a wheel tax, imposed at the DMV before they could get tags, that would produce a lot of revenue. I don't like a wheel tax either, but it is more fair than real estate tax. All these people driving around living off our tax dollars would have to finally pay taxes.

I have been reading this thread with some interest. It seems to me that your county school system is as corrupt as the rest of Southwest Virginia. I teach in a county very near you and was interesed in coming to Lee County until I read all of this wild stuff. I hold BA, MA, and EdS degrees, am starting the EdD program at ETSU in the fall, and am certified in History/Social Studies and Special Education and will be certified in Administration/Supervision very soon. I also drive a school bus. I really like the area but would be very afraid to work in that school system. I would be afraid of being let go, despite my qualifications, in favor of somebody's nephew. That is very concerning to me. I also took interest in the fact that all of your central office directors got their EdD's at the same time. How very academic of them. :)If I were there, I would make sure that my school woudl be cleaned up.

Which members have hired relatives or friends? I didn't realize they were hiring anymore with the money problems.
To be hired, a person first has to be recommended by the school principal and then the board votes on whether to hire or not.

Yep we the hardworking taxpayers paid for it. They did it to make their retirements bigger at the expense of tax payers.

The truth is these schools should not have been closed...Cuts should have been made with in the school systems, starting with all those high paid secretaries they having working in the central office! Its sad that they put these childrens education last! Everyone please look at other counties school board...WE have so many unecessary positions at Lee County Central office who gets paid a ridiculously high salary. But like always Lee County put sports, friends, cousins, GIRLFRIENDS etc....before our students.
Well all those high paid secretaries do nothing but take home the big bucks and take up space!!!!

what a joke? to get a job with Lee County School you have to do more than fill out and application and have principal recommend you. Ask Mr. Chadwell what you have to do? Vote for me and I will give you a job. or?????????? I hope the Federal Government walks in and?????????
