Has anyone else seen the kids at LHS who dress gothic? Isn't there a dress code? Also, gothic kids have committed school killings in the past. My son was friends with a boy there until he started talking vampires, murder, how cool suicide is, and listening to satanic music and wearing black tshirts and black makeup. My son is a good christian and I'm so proud that he did NOT fall for the peer pressure.

Yep, Pretty darn sure! The Columbine High School massacre occurred on Tuesday, April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School in Columbine, an unincorporated area in Jefferson County, Colorado, United States, near Denver and Littleton. Two students, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, embarked on a massacre, killing 12 students and a teacher, injured 21 others, while 3 were injured while attempting to escape, before committing suicide. It is the fourth-deadliest school massacre in United States history, after the 1927 Bath School disaster, 2007 Virginia Tech massacre and the 1966 University of Texas massacre, and the deadliest for an American high school. The massacre provoked debate regarding gun control laws, the availability of firearms in the United States, and gun violence involving youths. Much discussion also centered on the nature of high school cliques, subcultures and bullying, as well as the role of violent movies and video games in American society. The shooting also resulted in an increased emphasis on school security, and a moral panic aimed at GOTH culture, social outcasts, the gun culture, the use of pharmaceutical anti-depressants by teenagers, violent films and music, teenage internet use,[1] and violent video games.[2][3]

Don't be retarded. It's not because those kids were goth that they killed people. They were obviously very troubled teenagers. There are many other instances, unfortunately, of school shootings that have NOTHING to do with goth culture. You people are full of cliches and logical fallacies. If you think wearing black and listening to heavy music, etc. is the worst your child can do--then you're living in a fantasy world. Many, and I dare say most, children go through phases where they try new, different, and sometimes shocking styles and behaviors. It's the most common coming of age theme. I'd rather my child be "goth" than turn into the town slut or the class bully. Stop stereotyping and stop patting yourself on the back for stupid reasons!

Reread I'm not talking fashion and make up, or piercings. I'm talking some goths entertaining thoughts of murder, suicide, and other evil actions. Go google Goth murders and know the truth!! Please read alot more carefully before replying, so you don't look retarded! Your just talking fads, you have NO clue about Goths! knows better wrote: Don't be retarded. Oh please. It's not just goths who "entertain thoughts of murder, suicide and other evil actions." I know goth kids who are more moral, ethical and kind than the church-going kids at school. You sure are good at Googling and copying and pasting information that ironically supports what I say--that instances of violence such as Columbine has only led to a "moral panic aimed at goths" and nothing more than panic and paranoia! If the best you have to offer is insulting goth kids and praising your child for not being a goth then I feel sorry for you. Start a garden or something.

Oh and I DID re-read your first post and you DID talk about fashion: "Has anyone else seen the kids at LHS who dress gothic? Isn't there a dress code?" So don't try to act like you weren't being petty now because its obvious you are being superficial and frivolous. Go ahead and take the moral high road now and pretend you were just talking about murderous, satanic, suicidal kids. However, if you are a good Christian then you should be out trying to help such kids and save them--being kind and caring toward them-- not here on TOPIX talking about how you are so glad that your son isn't like them. Elitist holier-than-thou hypocrites trying to make others feel inferior...you make me sick!

LMAO. You are a hoot! You haven't an ounce of sense to understand. I didn't state only goths did anything. REREAD!! I am insulting Goth kids at LHS because I don't wish to see any harm come to decent normal students there. Understand? I'm glad you find these confused troubled kids to be so morally correct. The one's I'm referring are NOT! GET IT! You don't feel sorry for me for raising a decent human being, you are jealous that you were such a failure and society spots it. I do feel sorry for you that you are SO closed minded and can't understand what you are reading. Wipe some of that black smeary off of your eye lids, please! Here's you a challenge. Find something true that Goths have done for the he good of society. I called the board about these Goths at Lee High, some have spent time in and out of school suspension for starting fights and other threatening situations. Get the truth, it will set you free.

See you are So ignorant that you jumped to the wrong conclusions again. Our family and church did try to help a few without success. You haven't the decency to even ask. What have you done to help them Encourage them! Shame on YOU! You just admitted that they needed help. If they are so perfect in your opinion, what help exactly do you feel they need ? You just proved my point. TY!

Its all about that style they like, not to kill people, people should not judge kids especially because of what they are wearing, I have a 17 year old and a 13 year old and if they wanted to dress goth then more power to them. Shame on you for judging kids because of what they are wearing and I bet you judge people because of the color of their skin too?

And you didn't read it all or understand. Ck into remedial reading classes! You admit they are bad and need help, then you say it's just a fashion statement. You don't make any sense at all. knows better wrote: Oh and I DID re-read your first post and you DID talk about fashion: "Has anyone else seen the kids at LHS who dress gothic? They were however over privileged sociopaths from the suburbs bent on getting killing as many people as they could. They did so not because of a subculture. Their criminal act was done for no better reason than they hated the school and most people with in it.

Gothic kids in Lee County? Come on. All these kids are looking for is trying to get attention. They want you to be shocked when you look at them so they can get a rise out of you. Just ignore their dress and piercings and they will quit dressing like that.

The Lee Co Goth kids I'm talking about aren't just after attention or the shock factor. They are talking murder, suicide, how they wish certain people were dead and how they could do it etc. They are mentally unstable These are common red flags of worse things to come. They have texted threats, emailed, etc. The evidence is overwhelming. This isn't something to be ignored when innocent kids are being threatened. I guess you all know some that are just 'hooked on Halloween" and that's harmless, I'll agree.

Judgemental and stupid is what you must be, I am not an unfit parent and don't appreciate being called one, my children are straight a students, in the beta club, my son who is 17, is the president of the French club, in the Fea, Fbla and who has been inducted into the National Honor Society, tell us about your *Christian* child, oh by the way mine is a Christian also. Judgemental and very stupid. You are not teaching your child a very christian like attitude, I teach mine to pray for others and to always treat ANYONE with respect, it doesn't matter what clothes they have on they are still just kids under them clothes. Grow up LHS parent.
