Anyone know why Jay Akers is using City workers to maintain the old Franklin Electric building when he has a contract with the owners and gets paid to do it? With our city budget being stretched to its limit, city employees should be doing city business, not working on stuff our Mayor has a private contract to do.
So how does Jay react when people begin questioning this and taking pictures of the city employees doing the work? He makes false claims about it being against the law to photograph city employees claiming it is stalking.
Between this and so many other things Akers has done to this city during his term, I am extremely glad he isn't running for re-election. I'm not sure the city could survive hime being mayor for another 4 years.
It was easy to tell where his priorities were when one of the first things he did as mayor was to try to get the salary increased from $3,000 per year (it is a part time job) to $30,000 per year.
