What's with the obese police/sheriff officers? Saw a Craighead County Deputy yesterday at lunch. He must weight 400 lbs. Don't they have to pass physicals and stuff like that? Like my buddy said, "if I had done something wrong and he was the one who came to the scene.... I'd run cause there is no way he could physically catch me".

There are obese people in EVERY line of work. Sometimes good policing doesn't always mean being skinny and in good shape. Most people have been big all their lives, but that doesn't mean that they would make them a bad cop. Some of the best cops I know are overweight, hell you go ride in a car 8 hours a day, deal with court, and then family and try to fit in time to work out. Most that get on here and bash cops are the ones running from them and in jail all the time. Just being overweight doesn't make you bad at what you do.
