Would be a great way to start off the day by reading that as the headlines. She is inept and has cost the tax payers of Craighead County a lot of money. She should pay it back or RESIGN!!! Maybe if she would stay inside and work instead of out side smoking all the time age would be able to sent the IRS the reports!!!!!! Good Bye Nancy!

Maybe Hendrix and her will resign together. Then they can get married and go on a honeymoon to Aruba and never come back.

I'm hoping the Quorum Court members will kick her out! They have the power and responsibilty to end this madness. The Monday night meeting cleared up nothing!

Totally agree Monday night was a waste. If I wasted 50k+ and didn't do my job I would be fired on the spot.

Did I hear it wrong, or did the news say, the taxes had been held out but, had not been paid in? One article said the money was in the bank. Yes, she screwed up, but let's get the facts straight. If the money is in the bank, the only money lost will be penalties, if any. Or, has the money been spent, already?

Nelms was hired by the electors of Craighead County, and it's only the electors of Craighead County that can fire her. And they can only do that by voting her out of office next election.

The widespread ignorance of basic knowledge regarding the form and function of our government is astounding. It's yet another glaring example of the failure of the public school system to properly educate students.(But I bet graduates know how to put a condom on a banana.)

if the money was held out but not paid, how did the monthly and yearly books balanced? No way the books would have balanced.

you are right, you do not have the basic knowledge to post so you need to get properly educated yourself. the circuit court can remove any elected county official for incompetency.

I don't know why anyone is shocked by this news. She's been doing this for years. I'm willing to bet all monies can be traced back to her own personal accounts & investments. Though rates are low now, that hasn't always been the case. I think the money is tied up & she couldn't get to it. A formal investigation will determine this...mark my words. People talk in this town, while some say it's gossip, years ago I was standing in a circle of sources discussing her past practices & how the city gave her way too much leeway. The intake of money that woman handles is mind blowing. A crook gets braver & braver in time. More is never enough.

Bullshit. The Circuit Court is not some star chamber determining who can or cannot serve in elected positions. You don't have a clue.

You obviously are one of the undereducated dummies that suffers from the sub par education you received from the public school system in this state.

The Circuit Court has jurisdiction to hear such allegations, but there is a requirement that allegations be proven. It's not up to the Judge to simply remove somone because he thinks they aren't doing their job.

Leo

This is a good day for concentrating on activities that boost your self-esteem and sense of satisfaction. Do the very best job you can manage, partly for your own sense of pride and partly because it's important for you that bosses and superiors know what you're capable of. There should be good news about a pay rise, perk or a new job that's in the pipeline.
