anyone know of any vaccine friendly doctors in Jonesboro (doctors who are friendly toward parents who want help with the vaccine decision or who want to delay or decline vaccines) please let me know. I'm still doing research and I would like a doctor very educated on vaccines but not pushy on them. Willing to advise and support my decisions on them and has access to vaccines that are split and not all combined. Thank you

Did you find anyone? I've heard of Tamara Folz in Memphis, but not sure about traveling that far. My brother is a physician and everytime I ask him about side effects he gets fuming mad and tells me I'm going to kill my kid with chicken pox. He never really addresses the question. Lots of strong opinions in this argument I guess.

Very strong arguments from docs against this. My son had a reaction to a vaccine and no one can tell me which One did it but still insist that he get the rest of his shots...
My sons pediatrician here in town has said it would be best for him to do one at a time, and only two at a time for my daughter that was just born...but I live about an hour away now from Jonesboro.

I have chosen not vaccinate my children. They are just fine, they hardly get sick. I had chicken pox when I was younger and I survived. If you pay attention to your children and have good response when they are sick they should be fine. It is your choice and it's a big decision. Take your time and keep up on your research. Good luck!!

How do they work that when kids go to school? Don't they require kids to be up to date on immunizations to be able to enter? I respect your choice and definitely think parent's should be able to delay or cut down on the amount of them at one time.

My son has had some of his shots but after he was diagnosed with autism I decided to stop. You have to fill out a vaccine exemption if your child goes to public schools

I've looked into these vaccine exemption forms and parents must be careful. First off, sooner or later there will be people that get on this thread and tell us we are bad parents, we're putting their children in danger, conspiracy theorists, etc because I have heard them all. You must do what you feel is right for your child, whatever that may be...
Next, these exemption forms are tricky, in a lot of states, they basically say that the parent knows that they are putting their child at risk and accept full responsibility if something should happen to that child. I suggest that you dnt sign any of the pre-made forms and write your own and sign it. The law does not require that particular form for it to be legal....and when you write your own, it doesn't have to say that you are putting your child in danger for not taking the shots. That's my advicen if you choose not to vaccinate. I chose to vaccinate against the "big ones" such as polio and hep but not for others....

Every time I had my babies' shots, I was so scared after. Heard all the horror stories. I did have my doctor lessen the amount we had done at one time. We would just split them up. Sometimes they have them getting 8 vaccinations at a time. Just crazy. All of my children are out of that multi-shot age, thank goodness. Much relief.

Guest, if these "Dr Moms" didn't play such an active roll in our children's care they could have children at risk of many things. Also any parent that doesn't take that roll isn't much of a parent. It's our job first to look out for our kids and have the doctors for what they are trained and beyond our reach.

That is so true. And they dnot understand usually unless they have a child or know someone that has had a bad reaction to one of these vaccines....sometimes, it's just too much....especially on such little bodies. People really need to do their research before making assumptions about what other parents do. We don't attack them FOR vaccinating their kids...

Thank you!! I totally agree! I get a lot of weird looks when I tell people my children are vaccination free!! I also believe it's my children's choice what should be injected into their bodies. They can make that decision when they are old enough.

Our kids won't get those diseases because we are responsible parents, Cherokee Girl. Those who haven't protected their children against these diseases should be worried, though- because of illegal immigration & the "Autism-vaccine link hoax" by Dr. Andrew Wakefield, many of these diseases (whooping cough being just one of the resurging ones) are on the rise again.

Are you stupid? If your child is vaccinated don't worry about it. Parents that take the time to research these vaccines are concerned and loving parents so at the first sign of any problems we know and will get it taken care of.

I was worried about my daughter bc there is a history in her dad's family of MR and autism. I talked to Dr. Ashodian while she was doing all the multi shots and he was very caring and worked with us on splitting up her shots so that it would allow us to watch for reactions to particular ones. I know that there is a thread here talking about him not being a dr but he has been one of the most caring (and one of the few to listen to my concerns) pediatricians I have used. We no longer use him bc of our insurance changing but we prefer him at Pediatric Associates.

Do you all honestly still think vaccines are linked to autism? You realize that hysteria was caused by a one person with bogus research? Vaccines don't cause autism. The end

It doesn't take a dr. to do a little research and figure out that yes, the autism-vaccine link was a HOAX. The 'Dr.' who FALSIFIED test results to 'prove' a link between autism and vaccines was paid HUNDREDS OF THOUSASNDS of dollars by attorneys planning to sue the vaccine producers! That is a FACT. Look it up- his name is Dr. Andrew Wakefield. Nevermind, I've looked it up for you:

British Medical Journal's list of articles pertaining to the hoax:
http://www.bmj.com/search...

This is just one accredited medical journal's list. THere are many more if you just do some research.
