Northeast Arkansas residents, Pop Warner Football League is here in Jonesboro, AR. It is a nationally recognized league that serves kids from the ages 5-15. That's right your 5 year old can participate in the league. The division is set up to group kids by age and weight to reduce injuries. There is cheer leading opportunities as well. Player get to compete in regional tournaments to get the chance to play in Disney Land in Florida for the Super Bowl. As one may have seen before, the NFL typically recognizes the Pop Warner winners during the Pro Bowl. The website is neapopwarner.com for more details.

Sorry but no. Pop Warner football does require all coaches to take a brief coaching course through Pop Warner and to have a background check done

An example of an age group that has different weight classes is the 7,8,9yr old division that the weight range is 40-90 lbs. the next division is 8,9,10 yr old 60-105 lbs with the exception on 11yr olds weighing 60-85 lbs.

Could. But you have the option to put the 7 yr old in the mighty mite group. Go to popwarner.com and look at age division and weights. They do the weights and age to reduce injuries. It is the typical age split in high school football too. The divisions have been working for years and years without complaints of unfairness.
