Thoughts on welfare/HUD/Medicaid/foodstamps?

The people that use it disgust me. It is what separates the good people from the scum.

Quote a few passages for me, where it says that having all of these illegitimate babies is alright, or how about where it says that if you do, that working peoples checks should be robbed to pay for them, while their scum bag mother is in heat again, looking for a Joe to knock her up again, so she can get some more stamps.
I will be waiting, but won't hold my breath.

What about the cancer patient that can't work and doesn't draw enough money to live on while receiving treatments. What about the people that lose their job when the factories leave the country and there are not enough jobs left to go around. Yes there are bad seeds but we shouldn't make everyone suffer because of a few bad apples.

If your issue is with those who abuse the system, we have common ground, but I'd rather bitch about an extreme minority of those taking advantage of the system than have a majority of people in-need lose their homes, starve, or die because they just didn't have the coin.

People that lose their job, the elderly, and the sick, barely get enough help to survive.

The money is to be made by the worthless sperm gobblers. The baby factories.

It is a damn shame that the first group has to be associated with the ladder group at all.

BINGO!! You have seen this too? If the cancer patient can't muster up a healthy enough womb to pop out some babies......the system really doesn't care about her/him either. As you even admitted, they barely get by. That's why it is very common for them to eat canned pet food. It's meaty and costs verynlittle.

lets see,i dont get hud but sure wish i did.after paying $450.for rent it dont leave much to live on out of my $674.a mo.dont get food stamps and have went to bed hungry many times.i do have medicaid but only go to the doc once a yr for a checkup.now i dont know bout others but living below poverty levels is no big party.

I think it's a shame all of the scumbags have taken advantage of the system and now give EVERYONE who use government assistance a bad name. I don't use it and fortunately, I don't need it.

But I would never look down upon someone who does if they truly need help and aren't abusing it. I think everyone deserves to live a comfortable life.

I definitely think there should be a stricter screening process and for sure, everyone who uses any type of government assistance should be required to pass a drug test/random drug tests.

My neighbor is a single nonparent 33 year old with breast cancer. She worked fulltime in an office for 10.30 an hour. She can't survive on her sickpay so yes she does receive "food stamps" or link as it is called now. I don't have a problem with my tax (and her's) dollars going to help support a person like this.

I don't see how people abuse the system. I helped my sick neighbor with her application, she had to give them check stubs, bank statements, basically show prof of everything she owns, address, id, ss#, have two references fill out forms, etc.

My grandmother worked all of her life until she became unable. She is now almost 90 years old and her SSI benefits do not give her enough to live. She does receive HUD, but she only gets $16 in food stamps. I believe this is because the Senior Bees vehicle brings her lunch every day. The meals they bring around should be better! My parents and myself cook and bring her food whenever possible because of how disgusting the food they bring her looks.

As for my family, we do not receive HUD, Food Stamps, or any other benefits. We did for 1 months receive food stamps while my husband was laid off. I am shocked at how much they will pass out simply because a child is in the home! For the 1 month we were on it (and needed it) we received over $500!!! We didn't even use close to this because we didn't need it! If this is what they are giving out to all the trash in the U.S. then I see why people are popping out kids for it! We only have 1, and that's all we want. And even though we are making good money, if we had another child we 'could' be on food stamps again. Its ridiculous! The elderly that need help do not receive it, and the idiots who can't stop popping out kids get everything! Makes me sick!

I've heard (but never witnessed or done myself) that when people have a change in their income that goes up they do not report it. Getting on for us, we had to let them contact my husbands work specifically to see that he was temporarily laid off and for how long. Then they had to speak specifically to unemployment too. They didn't want the pay stubs. It is a lot of work and I'm hoping we never need it again! They should make it mandatory for people to submit a drug screening and income randomly throughout the time that they are enrolled in any help!

This should include WIC also. I know several teenagers who are on WIC and pregnant, yet they are still doing drugs!!! The poor kids don't even have a chance at a good like with parents like that....

Maybe if people already have 1 child and are getting government assistance we should start taking their other children and putting them up for adoption with someone who can care for them! Maybe that would teach the families.

I don't understand how people abuse it either. It seems like the ones who need it have to jump through hoops while the people who are just lazy get it like it's nothing. I've heard of people who don't report when their income raises, or they're drawing unemployment and when they go on interviews they both the interview on purpose so they wont get hired. There are plenty of people on government assistance who don't deserve it.

You have to recertify every 6 months, there is a semi and annual screening you have to go through that is just as demanding. So like I said I don't know how they are deceiving the government unless they are working for cash.
