If you don't mind me asking, Rdh623, out of curiosity...where do you work? I hate to break it to you, but no strict dress code in an office setting allows visible tattoos. By definition, any dress code in a professional setting such as that one that allows visible tattoos is NOT a strict dress code. I'm not against people getting tattoos, but if I walk into a professional office and see people with visible tattoos, that's a big red flag. If you work in a law firm, and I walk in for an appointment and you have tattoos showing, I'm going to turn right around and walk out to find a different firm. Tattoos and non-ear piercings have no place being visible in a professional office setting.

The general population (of adults) don't really want to be waited on by dirty looking hippie chick at all. Unless you work for Phish or Dave Matthews or something, they might hire you. You are absolutely correct. Most employers who handle customers face to face, look at a prospective employee applicant and on first sight form an opinion of their perceived worth to the company. I sat in a restaurant a while back, eating lunch and observed a young man coming in. At first glance, he just appeared to be a typical teen. He approached the front counter and asked for an employment application. The person behind the counter went to the office and returned with the app. The young man chose a seat in the rear of the dining room and proceeded to fill out the paper. Upon futher inspection, I begen to notice, as he moved his arms, he had several tattoos on both arms, from about mid-forearm and up. then I noticed the piercings in the ears, nose and lip. Just as I was finishing my meal, he finished the app and returned it to the person at the counter. After he left, I approached the manager and said,"Well, I guess he needs gass money." The manager replied, " He won't get it here. Company policy does not allow visible tats or piercings." So, you see he was rejected before he walked through the door. He just didn't know it. And yes, a person can be denied employment based on looks. It's called 'file 13'. Don't say a word other than to explain policy, then throw the app away and wait for the next one. And no, it is not considered discrimination. It's called good business.

All slut-dogs and scooter-trash should be marked. As far as "...averting our eyes...", we will certainly do just that. If you have no respect for yourself expect none from us. I don't quite understand how having body art equates to a lack of respect for one's self. Call me stupid, and I'm sure someone like you will, but the two subjects are completely separate.

danger man wrote: <quoted text> Yes, if I met you and was attracted to you and then you took off your shoes and showed me your tats I would completely lose interest in you. Foot tattoos are particulary gross too, because nobody wants to see your feet anyway. Also, as a business owner I would NEVER hire a girl with tattoos or facial piercings. Both show me that the girl is somehow insecure about just being as God made her. There is nothing in this world important enough to permanently etch it in your skin with ink. Not at all. If tattoos mean that you are insecure about how God made you then why do women wear makeup, or heels to be taller? Or why do guys shave their beards, and get haircuts? Do you have a problem with these things as well? If tattoos reveal insecurities than surely these other things must also. And there are things important enough to have on your skin. It's all about the individual. If you wake up and see a cross tattoo on your chest every morning, It's a good reminder that you need to behave as God has directed us to (Which includes avoiding passing judgement on others by the way). I have an american flag tattoo on my arm and it reminds me everyday of how great this country we live in really is. It reminds me to be thankful for family members and friends who have served and died for this country. I have a tattoo that represents my daughter, and even when I'm not with her it comforts me because she sees it and knows that it represents her. These things are worth having on you forever, and while I would defend your right to disagree, I would also encourage you to use more valid arguments in the future. p.s. why get so worked up about appearances man? An 80 year old butt isn't going to look good with or without ink. and that tattoo isn't what's going to keep anybody out of heaven. It's about how we live, not how we look. You think about that.

Qwerty wrote: <quoted text> Just for giggles......just how many professional jobs (outside of porn actors) do you know of that require you to show your genitals and nipples? Cuz, I can't think of a single one. Lol....sorry, but tgat was too funny, and i cant resist teasing a little about it. But I will marginally allow you plumbers. They have a horrible habit of showing too much hiney. Never noticed one with a tramp stamp though....think I would fall dead from laughter if I ever did. Come on dude! I have class. People don't know I have them. I've agreed there is a line of too much, but cut me some slack here. It can be a turn on for a man to know he's the only one who gets to see it. She might tell others about it, but no show, only tell. At least, that's what my man says. And he never misses an opportunity to tell people he has a real lady....not just a woman. He has an appreciation of the manner that I present myself to others. All of my tattoos are one of a kind, no flash tatts for me randomly picked off a wall or from a book. 2 of them are less than 2 inches in diameter. The one on my shoulder is one that I will be proud of till the day I die. It means something to me, but it's easily covered. I realize there is a time and place and when it's not appropriate. If we were to ever meet and they weren't showing, you'd be surprised to find out I have them. I know because I've gotten that reaction more times than I can count. All I'm saying is that if I didn't know you had tattoos and I was dating you and one day you decided to undress in front of me and I saw your tats (even hidden ones) I would be instantly turned off by you. It's like finding out your girlfriend has a dick by accident. Not cool and not sexy at all. I am sure your body and skin would look equally if not more sexy without the ink.

Yo may not like it, but you could try a dating service like match.com . Make sure to specify that you find "tattoos are a turn-off".

if you do not like that we have tattoo's do not look. It is not that big of a deal. A lot of men and women do like them, so its really not like we are worried about you not liking then. Get over yourselves.
