You are not donating anything, you are SELLING your plasma.

If you want to donate visit the Red Cross.

Not every one who walks into a plasma donor center is on drugs. I help manage one, and although there might be some questionable donors, many of them are college students, retired, looking to make extra gas/pocket money in a recession, business owners with free time, etc. Bottom line: For whatever reasons people decide to donate their plasma, it saves lives. We are flooded every year with letters from people who receive life saving, plasma derived medicines, essentially thanking these "people pimping themselves out for drug money" as you wrongfully noted. OUR SOLDIERS, Hemophiliacs, burn victims, children plagued immunology disorders, those with organ transplants etc. appreciate these donations.

Those are all the good things about giving plasma, i used to give twice a week until i found out how much they were selling my plasma for 800 dollars a bottle and only giving me 35 at the most for twice a week , so evrytime you give plasma they make 1600 dollaors a bottle and they only give you a freaking 35 dollar reward what a bunch of B.S if you ask me!!!!!!!!!!

You know some of us work hard, make decent money and are still short every month. I found this thread because I need the money from donating right now. I have a corporate job, make very good money, but am divorcing and had to file Chapter 13 bankruptcy to keep my ex and my two kids in the house I still pay for but no longer live in. She destroyed us financially by not working for 4 years essentially cutting our income in half and when the bottom fell out of the real estate market selling the house became impossible. $1750 a month comes off the top of my paycheck every month for the BR plus I insure all of them for another $500 a month and pay another $400 against a 401(k) loan I took out to try and avoid the bankruptcy. So $2650 a month never makes it to me and I had to move back in with my parents to keep my kids under the only roof they have ever known. I need to donate and get paid so that I can have gas money to get to work and kick a few extra bucks to my kids. So please think before you pigeon hole all of us into your hateful, ignorant boxes. And FYI, when I was doing alright financially I donated blood for free.

oh snap!

there are alot of questionable people in there.

the only time i ever went they told me that i couldn't participate. they said my veins were too narrow because they use a larger guage needle or something along those lines.(my veins are narrow nurses have problems getting iv's in me and the red cross can't get blood out of em without messin it up)........

anyway

when i was leaving the place there was a young man outside approaching people including myself as we left trying to sell us pot.

i personally only buy my pot from people i know so i had to pass him up on his offer but apparently there's a market for it up there or he wouldn't be posted up outside of the building.

that being said my friends that sell plasma there are fine upstanding citizens and DO NOT use the money to sell pot so i'm sure it's a mixed bag of noble and not so noble reasoning for people going up there,

if a group of people is to be judged by the lowest common denominator than we're all in trouble.
