Wow.
You either haven't lived in Joliet too long or you have led a VERY sheltered life.
Maybe she is trying to protect the type of people she hangs out with...

I talked with the clerk the other night. He is still very shaken up. I told him that it was good to see him. His comment was - I'm glad to still be here ! I did not get into any details, not my place to ask. I'm just glad this kid is able to continue his life on the right path. Yep, I still go there and will continue to do so. This is something this kid will have to live with the rest of his life, always thinking - that night could have been my last. To me, he deserves some type of recognition for standing up to someone that would have taken his life.

I think every upstanding citizen that encounters a "Thug" should open fire. For no reason at all. Shot'em up! Maybe this incident will spark a citizen’s revolt. Everyone attack at the same time. I will be the first in line.

who said anything about race? i have no idea what race the robber or clerk was? what i see is a bad guy getting what he deserves!
That's right; perhaps they should consider hiring him as a police officer, then maybe the crime rate will go down. Ethnicity, "race", religion has nothing to do with committing a crime and hey, if I was being robbed, you can bet I'd do WHATEVER it took to protect my life. You don't get anywhere in this life being "nice"; you gotta be tough. period.

One shot- one kill

Now that's a good rate.

One less scum bag on this earth to suck off the system.

Bet he was the type when you pull up to a traffic light you could heard rap music thumping from his car, and you hear it in your car with with your windows up.. you know the type..

If we keep shooting these thug's, our crime right will go down. Maybe these idiots will learn after they see there friends shot for doing the crime. We can save a lot of money by killing the criminal. Thank about how much of your tax dollars would have went to house this fool in jail/prison if he wasn't shot and killed.

i am the clerk that shot blake tillery. i had a gun in the cooler because i thought the next time i got robbed, i would be safe if i could make it in there. the only reason i shot the guy is that he was coming into the cooler after me. i shot him inside the cooler. he had all the money out of the register. he should have left. the messed up part for me is that i probably served him a hundred times over the years, and he was always quiet and polite. but, i guess there's more than one side to all of us. i am still affected by that night. the only comfort i do have, is that it didn't turn out to be an honest guy that was just down on his luck and did something stupid, or a teenage kid, or me.
