Maybe "Welfare" means different things in different places but be careful of putting people down just because they dont have a job.
Sure there are parasites out there but if illness or injury means someone cant work then helping them retain self respect by assisting them financially is the a mark of a civilised society

I agree, too many handouts & not enough people trying to make a liviv on their own. I get disgusted seeing little dirty faced children cause welfare scum can't obviously afford water to wash them with. Quit having kids you can't afford, then you wouldn't need food stamps. I'd like my taxpayer dollars to go for a good cause for a change, not laziness. Oh I could go on all day long....

I have only been in an Aldi store once and we are getting a new store in our area soon.I don't think only "welfare grazers" will shop there.A lot of people need to save where they can.You would be surprized at the people that even shop Goodwill stores that have great jobs and are looking for a bargain.I think it is being small minded to call every poor person greasers.

I am a journeyman mold maker. I've been in the trade for 19 years and, until now, have never been without a job for more than a week. I was laid off in January and have not recieved a single call back on the 40 odd resumes I have sent out. I recently began shopping at aldi to save as much cash as I can. I am not lazy and my children are not dirty. If anyone were ever to make some of the comments I've read on this post to my face I would put my foot so far up their ass they would look like a stick puppet.

I find this statement rude and offensive!! Whoever has written it obviously have not been affected by the recent economy crash and should watch what he says before 99% of the American population is shoving his words up his @ss, which is far less than he deserves.

this is very common in Punxsy where section 8 housing (which I disagree with) is a growing cancer.

You're much more positive than you were yesterday, which is a relief for both you and me! At least this will help you to take action, instead of sitting around feeling helpless or panicky. Right now you're interested in philosophical, spiritual and religious topics, and hope that they'll help you get more meaning out of life and they'll reveal why you're experiencing your current problems.
