just curious if anyone out there has any opinions on the TSCI? what is it like to work there and would you recommend a person apply?

I would totally go there especially if you're looking to step out on your husband/wife. Everyone there sleeps with everyone and some even screw the inmates...

So heres some of the latest news...Staff search was done on upstairs staff member vehicle and beer was found in the vehicle on State property.How do you think that was handled..Hmmm Also personal cell phones was brought in and theirs rang when going through the gate house and a Major was standig there...Hmmm Why does only certain staff when they chose to get a different job within get to take a lower pay cut? I guess everyone cant be so privilaged to work upstairs with Beethe.Staff not having to clock out on State time taking an hour lunch not a half hour like the rest of the staff who has to clock out for lunch.Also bringing in personal pictures of your kids ball pictures and printing them off on State computer.FAIRNESS...Not at TSCI

why did the kitchen lady leave before her notice had actually expired?
you can change positions when it benefits the facility OR when they like you.
prining out pictures would be a huge deal i would think. i have heard a lot goes on directly under the one person and gets overlooked yet the same person micro-manages outside of her jurisdiction.

The lady in the kitchen got smart. The administration supervison wanted her to sign paper work saying that she would complete train a staff memeber before she would leave. This staff member who is a drinking buddy of Kim Beethe and Kerri Miller in now in a directors position and she does not know anything about running a kitchen. The administration told her that she would recieven a statment of charges if she did not sign the paperwork. Guess what. She told them where they could put the paper work so it would not get sunlight on it. She left that day. What is really great, She already has a much better job with another kitchen services that treats her like she has a brain. Too bad that Dominic or Fred does not have one.

Another thing that they should check out is the hard drive of Kim Beethe's computer, You know they can't erease everything. It would be interesting to say the least. I really don't hope that the people in Lincoln don't know what is going on because if they do and just let it happen then I think it is time that someone goes to jail.

i love working there. just go to work and do your dang job like you are supposed to every day. there are plenty of people who do that. associate with us, we are a good crowd. as for the rest of the bs that goes on, it will work itself out. don't get wrapped up in that and certainly don't get involved. kiss kb's ass as needed and someday kiss it goodbye. don't let three or four people there ruin it for the rest of us. rally around those who you respect and we can all create a wonderful working environment. that place will be there forever and what we need are quality staff willing to do the same.

There are alot of good people at TSCI, just none in the upstairs office, the HR people have been doing a good job, go becky and dana, and kevin, the rest are a joke, but you are right, some day, we hope, it will come back and bite them, and then maybe we can all go to work and do are jobs and not worry about all the crap that goes on. Like every place, you will have the ones that make going to work a nightmare, and you will have the people that you look forward to seeing and working with, everyone needs to keep their heads up, we do a great job, even if they don't support us, we can support each other and make working at TSCI a better place.

children and toddlers are the most honest people i know so it is interesting to hear someone say to grow up. by grown ups i assume you mean those who know how to candy coat their words so they are socially acceptable and politically correct.

I really believe this is the worst prison to work at. They don,t care about staff just hug the inmates. So sad

This institution is a joke. Everything about it. Between 2 main cliques of staff, and the superior officers playing favorites its almost impossible to keep your sanity. The inmates in general are nothing. There might be 4 or 5 hardcore inmates in the whole population. The biggest problem comes from the high school drama created by the staff. If you're looking to get laid go work at tecumseh. plenty of women who put out pretty easily. as a teenage correction officer i can confidently say that I rarely was fearful when at the prison beyond my starting week. There's really nothing to it. If you are good at kissing butt and don't mind a bunch of pansies talking crap about you to your face and even more behind your back, then this is definitely the place you want. If you can kiss up well enough you can go far in this institution. Personally i wouldn't go back ever. even if it was the only job i could find. Worthless people.

There is alot of perceived favoritism going on at TSCI. Whether it is truly happening or not, I really don't care. It actually rarely affects me. I go to work, and do my job to the best of my ability. I don't get involved in all the cliques and rarely socialize with my co workers outside of work. It doesn't pay as well as it should and the benefits aren't nearly as good as they should be. But it really isn't a bad job or a bad place to work if you don't let yourself get caught up in all the drama.

I totally agree with this! I recently heard about 2 staff members that were having relations while at work. So apparently you can get "it" while working. That it pretty sad. What kind of place is this? If they cant even keep employees in line how are they going to keep inmates? Hope they are both no longer working there.

This is the same ole, same ole. The problem is with the generation Y. Every employer is having these issues. What people need to do is concentrate on doing the right thing everytime. Treat people as you wish to be treated and follow the rules. Don't get involved with people at work. You were united by what you do for a living, not by lifestyles or how you live. Go to work, do your job and go home safely. The DCS has been getting worse but it's because of Gen Y so deal with it.
