He could have handled that better. She was out of line, but seriously. Police should be trained to defuse these type of situations with cool reason, and not enjoy exercising the power issue to them by the state. This was more of a battle of wills (egos). If I were him (or his mother) I would be ashamed.

This cop is a Jacka**. He needs to have his badge taken away and made to clean out a gorilla cages with the gorillas in them. These are the kind of cops we don't need. Who did he serve or protect? Next we'll be Tasing little kids for chewing gum.

Sign your ticket and fight it in court. We're blaming the cop? Why should she get a bye because she's 72? The law is the law, follow it and you won't get tased. It wouldn't have gone that far had she just signed the thing in the first place. If that would have been a 35 year old man this wouldn't even be a story. Follow the very simple laws that are in place and you don't get tased. It's not rocket science. She's no victim, she the problem.

Did you watch the entire video? Yes she was nasty, but what do you expect,,,She is after all from Texas. Before she was shocked she told the fat cop to give her the ticket and she would sign it. She said this two times. He shocked her anyway, once after she was on the ground.

My hope is that she has several grandsons that will take this sorry excuse for a cop and shock him a few times. This jerk gives cops a bad mane, even in Texas.

I understand that you serve(d) this country you did that in order to Protect and Serve against all enemies both foreign and domestic but do you really think a 72 yr old unarmed 4ft 11' woman could have really done that office some harm? My mother is 74 and if anybody I mean anybody so much as touches a gray hair on her arm WWW3 will commence.

Ok
A cop pulls over a car on the side of a busy highway road.......
You have a old lady with a chip on her shoulder bigger then Texas......

She already escalated the situation when she refused to sign the ticket and GOT OUT of her car.(DUH)
There is no easy way to go back on this situation. The cop is trying to keep her safe and be-aware of the traffic that she could run herself/him into with that temper. So, yes to push was to show he was serious.
It takes a split second to make that situation deadly. He controlled the situation and gave her a much needed attitude adjustment. She is no different then the old man who smacked the young child at the store. They use their age and size as leverage BUT want equal rights. What it it was a average man or woman in their 40's? She should have just stayed in the truck and kept her mouth shut and signed the ticket like a good American and owe up when you get busted breaking the speeding law.

I'm not saying he couldn't have handled it better, because obviously he could have, but the whole thing could have been avoided by her in the first place. WWW3? I'm not messing with you!

Again,,,, I will ask you, did you see the video????? This sorry excuse for a man did not push her out of traffic. This jerk shoved her because he could. Even the county sheriff would not back this cop up. How could you or any one else defend he actions? Maybe you need a little shock to wake you up.

Well, if she wouldn't have told him to just take her to jail, then she proceeded being a nasty crab and was being hard to deal with. No she didn't deserve to be tased but she did deserve to be hand cuffed and jailed for disorderly. And I never knew cops had manes....

Well,,,,I guess you got me on that typo. But we were talking about a cop in Texas, and after all he was a horses backside so he could have had a mane, if that is the way you spell that long hair on the neck.

That old bag deserved EVERY volt she got. Had she followed directions from the get go she would have easily been on here way without tasting a taser.

To those asking if anyone watched the full video...Yes I saw the WHOLE thing...did you see her pull away after trying to be handcuffed? ANYONE else pull a stunt like that and theyd get the same. I dont care if she's 72 yr old frail woman, she obviously doesnt know when to pick her battles.

Just the comment that a person from taxas would make. Why don't you go and kill some more cheerleaders.

Considering Ive never killed a cheerleader but thanks for painting every Texas with the same brush...

I suppose you think its ok for anyone to do what they want when they want regardless of what our authorities in place say.

Ok i may have handled it a different way but, he really didnt handle it to bad. Both people left without injury. yall have sat there and watched the video and critisized this Deputy. Yes this lady was 72 years old. she sure and the hell didnt act like one. Just because shes old, the officer should not act any different. OLD PEOPLE kill cops too.("TROOPER VETTER SHOOTING" and many more) the man was like 75. The officer gave her plenty of chances to sign at first. She doesnt want to and says take me to jail. The Deputy asks her to get out of the vehicle, she starts to get to close to the officer and to close to traffic. He tells her to get back and she continually assaults the Deputy YOU DONT ASSUALT A COP. shes 72yoa she should know that. Then shes tries to get back in the truck after the Deputy tells here to stay there, again getting to close to traffic putting him and her in danger. COPS die to much by getting hit by cars on traffic stops. Traffic stops are the most dangerous police encounters. AND ok so shes 72 years old her bones are probably brittle and break easy I dont know. But as aggresive as she was (already pulling away from Deputy) and assaulting him. you dont pull away from a cop. YOU KNOW she would have resisted the Deputy and he would have had to use force on here (Wrist Lock, Take her to the ground and get herself and the Deputy hurt.) who knows but he tased her WITH NOT ANY SIGN OF INJURY. There would not even of been a story if the person was umm idk 38 years old or whatever. Whats so different bout this. The dumb lady got a panties in a wad and BROKE the law.

i think this is a case of police brutality. the police these days are going way to far. this could have been taken in a different direction. she didnt leave the car, the officer told her to get out. she had the right not to sign the ticket. she also told him to give it to her after she was told to get out of the car. she said she would sign it but he started pushing her. im a security guard and i have found that u do not have to use your tazer. 98% of the time it can be talked out. but in this case i think the officer was upset she wouldnt sign the ticket and he was the one who was disorderly. something should be done about these finger pushing police who think they are god.
