Took my key remote in for my car to have a new battery installed and the idiots striped the screw and the remote will not open. This was the first time removing the screw was tried. I knew I did not have the right tools and took it to a"professional" There was not apology given and then developed an attitude. I guess I will have to but a new remote at 105.00. The guy said, Oh yea, after returning to key to me and said we had one last week and never did get it open. If you know you cant fix it then dont start something you cant fix.

I had the same problem too. Very discussed in the attitude of the employees. They broke the remote and had the guts to ask me for money for the battery. I left the battery on the counter. People thing again when you have remote fixed by untrained people.

Well, not to knock either of you but thinking a battery store sales person is a professional electronics person or even that they have some mechanical aptitude is a bit like thinking the cashier at Petsmart is a board certified veterinarian.

Sorry you all had a bad time and got your stuff broken, maybe try Master Battery over on Oakland Ave next time. They probably aren't any more expert on mechanical aptitude things, but they know battery applications well and they are very pleasant to deal with.

If they are in the business of replacing batteries they should be able to do it.

They(Batteries Plus, Master Battery, etc.) aren't in the business of replacing batteries, they're in the business of selling batteries.

Battery Plus?... Man... The same thing happened to me over there a while back. I took my key fob there to have them replace the battery, as well. Not only did they break my fob trying to open it up but once they got it open, they didn't have the right battery to fit the thing! They stripped the wires and twist tied the ends to a 9 volt lattern battery! My key fob is a bit burdensome to carry now but when I'm in the parking lot at the mall and I mash the button to unlock my car door, I unlock every door and make lights flash on every vehicle in the parking lot! It may be a tad cumbersome, bulky, heavy and ugly (especially with the duct tape wound around it and the battery) but I now have the BADDEST key fob in town!!!!

just drill out the screw and in worse case just super glue it back together when you install new battery. atleast it will buy you time til the new battery dies which usually last 3 years anyway.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Aries

In recent weeks you've been quite concerned about a loved one, and things are likely to come to a head as Mercury turns in your mid-heaven. You may be able to solve the problem simply, which will be a relief all round, but there's a chance that you may have to do some serious thinking or get some expert advice before you know exactly what your next step should be. You may have to take official action of some kind.
