Dan Eldridge-more of the same

Look at who his supporters are. Look at who his campaign treaser is. Yeah he wants change alright.

You are seriously saying that he cant do the job just because of who is supporting his campaign? so you are discrediting him be/c he has connections that can help contribute to his election? What does that have to do w/ whether he can do the job or not?

are you seriously calling an attorney (don arnold) ethical? You must be kidding. When was the last time that you could use attorney and ethical in the same sentence.

Dan is campaigning on transparency and a positive change therefore he opens this up for debate-why would the same good ole boy circuit want him in. Granted attornies are not my favorite but there are exceptions and Don Arnold is an exception his record speaks for itself in his term as Mayor and Senator and the clients he chose to represent. Remember Eldridge was spokesperson for largest wheel tax in Tn while still trying to pass a small property tax increase. Common sense-you do npot propose a huge wheel tax and property increase in same budget year. Even the passive voters of this area did not buy that.

His kickoff looked like a current commission meeting with the exception of a few. I remember now Dan did want a $50.00 wheel tax. How about trimming the budget like most families do? Oh thats right lets take care of our contractor buddies. And at least our Arnold will take calls on his posted phone # and have the common courtesy to return phone calls. Danny boy gets an F in that dept.

Dan Eldridge is exactly what Washington County needs. He is not a politician and he sure ain't a trial lawyer. He came home to build a big company that had 500 employees. Take a look at the Washington County web site and look at the last time they posted anything about economic development in the county - it was 2001! If you want Washington County to grow some jobs by attracting companies to come here would you rather have a lawyer try doing it or somebody has been there and done that?

Why not try to do something good for the county with a businessman. All you have to do is look at Washington DC to see what a bunch of lawyers will do with your government.

Ask anyone Don Arnold is not your typical lawyer(trust me I am not crazy about the profession either). Don Arnold believes in ethic, term limits and economic growth. He proved that while Mayor, Commissioner and Senator. Eldrige is a fine man just mislead by those backing him-the long serving good ole boy Commissioners and school board members. Dan has a proven record of being the spokes person for the proposed largest wheel tax in TN with a tax increase in property taxes. You never give a governing body another way to tax you. The state law prohibits property tax from being raised so much so many times. Arnold would have asked commission to trim thier budget and not go overboard on building programs.

How many jobs has Don Arnold created? Maybe one to tend his farm down in the county so he can claim to have some kind of interest in the county? What does he know about economic development? Ethics? He is a trial lawyer! He is a politician! if you think that he ain't going to hook up with some good ole boy politicians in the county and the city then you go right ahead and think that.

Don played a major part in economic development in late 80s early 90s. He was instumental in the begginning of getting Saturn and Nissan to Tennessee. As far as a lawyer he is not like most I know and as far as being a politician the minute you run for office you are one. However most good ole boy politicians do not care for him because he wants to change the county charter by putting term limits on local officeholders, no hiring of family members and Commioners them selves cannot work for the County. Now when I was at Eldrige kickoff Eldridge would not committ to that but than again maybe he could not because many of the long term,some county employed, tax and spend Commissioners were there in support for him. Until that time I had not made up my mind who to vote for. I have been told not to committ yet because rumor has it an even better candidate maty be announcing. Until that time I am going with Arnold(although Edridge is a good man too). But Washington County needs an ethics change and a new way of doing business. The current Commission has had many developers who have beneffitted from inside info and many who are employeed by the county themselves. Don wants to do what Knox County did and change the charter.Look at our recent activity of School Board and commission last year.

Everybody should go to JC Press archives and any other news source 0f 2008 and see who ring leader of wheel tax is. Instead of commissioners tightenig their belts as most families have had to do they propose a wheel tax in addition to property tax increase. DAN ELDRIDGE WAS LEAD SPEAKER AND PROPONENT OF NEW WHEEL TAX. As President Reagan once said you dont gine Govt. a new way to tax you because that is just one more tax they can increase on you later. By the way When Arnold was asked about the new wheel tax he replied he was one of the 73% who voted against it.

Hey look at the JC Press Appears Danny Good and Clarence Mabe pulled a fast, illegal and defintly immoral move to get the blundering idiot Danny Good hired as athletic director. Oh by the way Clarence Mabe is Dan Eldridges campaign Treasuer. Yea Dan Eldridge is for transpencey in gov't alright. Eldridge does not answer phone or return phone calls by the way so how would he as Mayor when he would have more on his plate or wait is he afraid some tough q=uestions about ethics may come up.

I can't believe this area is going to let the rich contractor and snake oil salesmen buy another election, this time for Eldridge.

When you've got people like Larkey, Mabe, and Good financing your campaign and running it, you've got a problem. These crooks preached "transparency" and "common sense" government during their terms and what has that gotten us!? Fine upstanding "Christian" men indeed - look into their backgrounds and you'll be surprised what you find.

Anybody that knows Don Arnold knows that he is his own man. Neither Wanda May nor anybody else will be running over Don Arnold. That concept is laughable.
My question is why is Eldridge wanting to tell everyone how to run the school systems when his own children go to private school?

What can you tell us about these "fine" gentlemen? What surprises can you give us? We need to know if Eldridge and his crew are not honest before we vote. I know Don Arnold is an honest man!

Don Arnold is BOTH ethical and an attorney.

School board member Clarence Mabe is Dan Eldridges campaign treasuer or manager. What does that tell you? Tells me Eldridge approves of backroom politics like Mabe wanting afull time athletic director (his lie it will pay for itself)than changing requirements so loser Danny Good can get the job and lets not forget his main supporter Scott Drunkingham I mean Buckingham who as a sitting Commissioner got himself appointed tax assessor. REally sounds like Eldridge is for change and transperency.NOT.

Wanda May helped run the Phil Roe campaign and she isn't trying to his Congressional office. In fact, she turned down a job in his office. It is a ridiculous notion that anybody with a backbone like Don Arnold would be pushed around. Don has my vote for that very reason. Nobody talked Don Arnold into running either...he made the decision on his own 2 years ago.
