How are they looking so far? I think Science Hill will be much better this year, but they open up against one of the best teams in the state in Greeneville. Any predictions?

Stacey is the best coach in the region hands down. The hill will be a little better this year but until everybody buys into staceys system they will struggle. It's gonna take some time but science hill will become a state power house during Stacey Carters tenure as coach.

I agree with that. If Greeneville can become a State Powerhouse in 4A football, then Science Hill has the talent and resources to do it as well. Money can go a long way! Thanks to the donations from a certain individual, Greeneville got a great coach about 4-5 years ago along with a great staff, and they got first class facilities as well. Science Hill is doing the same thing, and they will build a great program eventually in my opinion.

Any updates? The football season is almost here, so how are they looking? Who will be the key players?

I'm a player on the football team and to be honest, they say that we look the best that the team has looked in a very long time. We have bought in to coach carter. Greeneville beat us 26-18 however stupid mistakes cost us the game. We were at one point 18-20 with them ready to finish it off. If greeneville is a "Powerhouse" football squad, we should also be recognized as one. Our JV defeated Dobyns-Bennett at DB's turf. Key players are Grant Janeway who is a junior linebacker. Also Will and Jahmar Adams. Look for sophomore Malik tarter. He should be 4-5 star quality if his head stays right. Anthony head, noseguard/backer.

Greenevilles current head coach was my freshman keyboarding teacher in 2001, so he was far from purchased. sorry just had to clear that one up caine ballard has been there for a decade. As for shhs, greeneville played pretty bad against you. Both teams could havee played better and I think you'll end up a second round playoff team

Greeneville had absolutely no mistakes on offense and very few on defense. Any who has eyes could have seen that.

The GHS program changed with McCurry, who was paid a huge amount of money. Ballard has continued that program brought in by McCurry.

I agree about Greeneville playing bad against SH. They had several injuries, but still had a chance to put the game away in the first half but the backup QB for GHS threw an interception and allowed SH to get back into the game.

Good luck to Science Hill tonight against my Morristown West Trojans (but not too much). Me and my family went to last years game at Science Hill; beautiful stadium and all the Science Hill fans we encountered were very classy.

Science hill lost with 2.7 seconds left in the game as morristown west kicker made the field goal. Final score 22-19.

The only thing I didn't understand was that one time the stadium was playing music while Science Hill was in the huddle (which they shouldn't have been doing). The referee stopped to ask the stadium to not play music when the ball was live. Several times the Science Hill band started playing when Morristown West broke the huddle and continued through the play without the referees saying anything to them. Not a very classy move for such a classy school.

obviously you have never been to many high school or college football games. The band is allowed to play, music is not. You guys were playing that god awful guitar riff and bell ringing every 3rd down. I couldn't even hear myself think out there.

Obviously you don't know classic rock. Ever heard of hells bells? The music was stopped before the play, and I never hear the West band play during the play?

Just who was the individual who picked the SHHS logo without checking on copyright? It seems that when hundreds of thousands of dollars in artificial turf and soprts gear are plastered with a new logo it would be a good idea to spend a couple of hours on researching rights and ownership.

This was really elementary and indefensible poor work.

Science Hill - Extremely overrated school!
DB Rules

It is funny that Science Hill thinks Carter is the best coach in the region. Especially since he has only been close to beating DB once and about 6 or 7 times DB has beat him by 4 to 6 TD's. Science Hill is a basketball school. Science Hill has 1,000 more students then DB and still, can't come close. DB has the best facilities, turf, biggest stadium by far, 4 million $$$ field house with the best weights, an mri machine, a dome that is for DB only (unlike Freedom Hall), and the best coaches. DB has stomped the Hill 18 years in a row. DB is in the same classification and Science Hill has 1,000 more, Science Hill should be in 8A if DB is in 6A, yet DB still is dominating in football and on par if considering all sports. Not to mention DB has way better academics. And someone earlier talked about how tough Greeneville was after Science Hill lost to Greeneville. Greeneville has 850 students, Science Hill has OVER 3 TIMES that and still lost. Pathetic. And you ask how DB would do against Greeneville? DB beat them 21-0 in a full scrimmage playing 3rd string half the time. Remember when Science Hill played DB kind of close in the Jamboree? How did that 47-14 beating work out for you when it counted? Carter is the best coach in the region my butt. Heck at the DB vs Hill game your players (or shall I say thugs) were barely behaved better then your Coach Nelson that goes out on the field and mouths off to the DB sideline. A coach! Oh yeah, that is real ganster like. Glad Nelson went to South and still can't stand DB so he actually looked way worse then any 17 year old losing their temper. This guy must be 37 or so. Yeah, real classy coaches you got there at the largest school in the state. How can you teach control, when your coaches are out of control? I got news, DB will be way better next year, so get ready to lose and maybe your coaches can act like idiots again as they try to figure out why #1 Science Hill football will never beat DB more than once every 20 years and #2 Why do fans from JC not ever show up? A school that has 2,700 should have at least 4,000 on the home side like DB does (on a bad day). Fact is JC likes bball and JC will never embrace football even with the new facilities. This was obvious from the current 2011 season. I heard the Karns game turnout was a joke. Sad.
