I was thinking the same thing. Still, cutting half a mil when we're short billions is like a fly attacking the president.

This restoration is going to provide people jobs in the the Jim Thorpe area... You guys sound like you are just looking for government hand outs and it's not going to happen. I think this is wonderful and if you've ever seen the mansion you'd agree that this is a worthy project!

That mansion is a great thing to see, but I do also agree that it's a waste of taxpayer dollars at this time. It won't put that many people to work for a long period of time. The house was originally heated by ice blocks which the conducted cold air through the ventilation system back when it was the norm to buy blocks of ice from ice houses...

More free from the taxman. Is the plumbing work being done by Nesqy's favorite third rate plumbers helper?

Sell it to Lehigh Universtiy so that can use it as a meeting center. Asa Packer founded Lehigh.

Why was it allowed to go to disrepair that $500k restoration was necessary.

Personally, I love Jim Thorpe and Carbon County. I hope it forever stays under 60,000 people. I would love Carbon County to just eliminate all the borough and merge them into surrounding townships and make them village centers.

I agree. In a year where there is $3.2 billion state deficit, this is not the best use of funds.

Glad to see Yaich's photo in the paper.I had to look close to see which face he had on. Then I read the caption. It is still the face trying to convince the good folks of Jim Thorpe that he lives in town.

To bad his CREBIDLITY is no good!!!

Jim Thorpe is a great place to live, and getting better all the time. You small-minded, gutter mouthed, hate mongers need to stop all this back-biting. Fight your fights in the light of day, stop this cowardly, anonymous backstabbing. Your words are poison

Your "comment" is the comment of a coward who can't do anything positive. Instead of trashing your community, get off your sneaking, anonymous arse and do something positive, volunteer for good, instead of tapping out your hatred here. Your words are poison.

You are such a moral crusader with your negative propaganda. Have you ever done anything for the good of others? Or do you simply hide in your cellar under a fake name and bash those who do? Maybe these people who are trying to make your area a better place to live should pack it up and let you step up to the plate. Although, if you do decide to help out in your community, you'll have to start using your real name.
