I am once again, disgusted by any police department that use tazers at their own free will. I sincerely hope the family of this poor boy sues the entire police department and drags them through the court system, and they all lose their jobs- namely the chief of police, Blackorby! This was a child, not threatening in any way- in fact, he appeared to be disturbed in some way- maybe not! By what the news stated, he was not armed, and outside of a struggle with the cops involved, was not a threat to them whatsoever! My son is looking at joining the police department locally in Nashville/Franklin, TN. If I were to ever find out he went on a power trip to the point of killing an innocent person, he will have to take what is given to him. I certainly hope these so called, cops can sleep at night- and certainly pray they get their just reward! At this point, I really wish my son would choose another career path.

Why have the police officers not been charged with murder??

What kind of town are you running? Are you afraid of your police? Handle them or they are likely to kill more of you un-armed sheep.

The police chief, wrote in a statement 'the mayor, city commissioners and the Jerseyville police department wish to express their deepest sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of Roger Holyfield'
I'm sorry, but that's not good enough. Not nearly good enough. The only ones who became 'combative' as far as I have discerned were the trigger happy and child-punching police at the scene of this unfortunate gang murder.

The police department here is way out of control. I hope that the family of Roger take the Police Department and Esp. The damn Chief Blackorby to court and they all get fired or rott in prison. They all think that they get by with everything and its time something gets done.

The police officers here think that they can get by with anything! Their all cocky cops and think their all hot shit. The police officers here are never out on the streets patrolling their all sitting at the station but when it comes time when they can really get to put up a fight and kill a teen their all up for it.

Because the mayor and chief of so-called police are protecting them. Believe me they will get punished. They have no idea what battle they are in for. They would rather pick on innocent people than real criminals(themselves).

The so called mayor and chief of police are protecting them. They were only taken off duty 2 days! The so called police in this town should be out catching real criminals(themselves) instead of innocent religious teens. Believe me, they will pay for what they did and they don't even realize it. They should spend the rest of their natural lives in prison for murder and then The Lord will seek his vengence for his sheep. I used to respect the police, but unforunatly thats impossible after this.
By the way he was tased 9 times not 2.

kinda hard to pull probes out of your body when your cuffed and its also hard for anyone to put someone in ambulance when a cop has their foot on victims chest.

I don't know what the rest of you have read but the St. Louis asst. Medical Examiner stated he believed Roger Holyfield died from "exited delerium" which can happen when a person has a mental disorder or is on drugs. It sounds like everyone is quick to blame the police just by reading a newspaper article! Let the State Police complete their investigation and wait for the toxicology report before you rush to judgemment and place blame.

I live in Jerseyville, having grown up in the area. The deceased young man is the nephew of my kids' stepfather, and my ex-wife is a nurse at the hospital he was taken to after his arrest. According to the staff in the ER, the young man had clearly been beaten, and had multiple taser wounds on his body. Plus, there have been witnesses who've come forward refuting the police department's version of the story, and backing up the comments of the ER staff. I've personally seen members of our police department use excessive and unnecessary force on more than one occasion over many years, not to mention other questionable practices. This will haunt our community for a long time to come.

a chicago woman gets a beating from a cops and it makes national news , this story has been rejected by powerful media consultants , becouse jerseyville and a larger contortium of federal crooks seriously hooked up , and being investaged for numerous crimes . Yes the town of jerseville has been taken off of Former Gov. Ryans _ Govs. Home Town List !I think its some kind of G.O.P. award to salute extreme right wingers !

Lady, you must believe everything you read. First off, the military won't train with tasers because they believe that they cause nervous system damage. Secondly, "exited delirium" is a term that was coined for the mental state of drug addicts. Exited Delirium is not a medical term accepted by any psychiatric body of merit and is merely a catchall for those medical examiners who can't determine a legit cause of death. Maybe you should do some research instead of assuming that your "st. louis medical examiners" know what they are talking about.

No where in this story did I see it say he was white / black or any other color.

The young man was white!

And your reference to this article shows lack of maturity.
I do not care if you are black white hispanic or any culture ..........what was done was done wrong!

FYI - Jessie Jackson wanted to come here and reap the benefits of this story!

Give it a break look at the real issues ... for once look at this as a child who was killed not a person with shades on the skin!

Another thing about this story is
a child was involved and you can not just go writing up about a child!

It is some act to protect a child's privacy.
It was wrong of the labs and news to release his personal info .. I still can not believe the Judge released his history without his mothers permission!

So comparing this story to a Chicago woman being beat is 2 different ways of thinking she was a woman and this is a child!

what if this was your child ..........would you want the news blasting every thing they had ever done out?.. I know my child is no angel and I wouldn't want my child's memory in such a way!

Prayers go out to his mother who only had one child! She will never hold her child's hand again. She will never watch his smile or sit next to him in church!

That was a races comment, What does It matter your color either why It was wrong what happened to him.
I am 15 and would never want that to happen to me, and I would never say some Kind of races remark like that.
Maybe the cops are races and killed him because of his color, ever thought of that??
