Local animal kennel found in horrendous condition

If you want to abuse animals then come to Jersey County. Last December a Grafton man made front page headlines in the Alton Telegraph when he shot 3 dogs,killing two of them. Charlie Moody of Grafton admitted to the police that he shot 2 St.Benard dogs and a small black dog that were on his property. Moody was charged with two felony counts of animal abuse but never spent a minute behind bars. The Moody Brothers who live and farm in the Elsah,Dow,Otterville area of Jersey County freely admit to shooting any dog that strays onto their land. Charlie Moody,who lied to the cops and claimed the dogs were chasing his cattle, plead guilty after a witness came forward contradicting Moody's claim that he has a right to shoot dogs. Over one hundred dogs have gone missing or been shot in this area and Moody was only given a slap on the wrist,Probation for the Dog Killer. I thought a felony included jail time ?

We need a new States Attorney. The Moodys have Money. The People that were running the filthy dog kennel are poor so they sat in jail for a week. Charlie Moody and his family will keep on shooting dogs.....I agree,Jersey County Sucks. The is no justice in Jerseyville,remember Roger Holyfield.

get over it! Jersey County is a hell of a lot better than Madison County! They shoot people there not just dogs!

But when someone shoots a person in Madison county and IF they are caught you can bet they will go to jail. In Jersey County whether or not a person goes to jail depends on who that person is related to or where they go to Church......There is no Justice in Jersey County,never has been and never will be.
