Did you know that President Clinton's first acts upon taking office in 1993 was to disarm U.S. soldiers on military bases. In March 1993, the Army imposed regulations forbidding military personnel from carrying their personal firearms and making it almost impossible for commanders to issue firearms to soldiers in the U.S. for personal protection.

Yet another example of Gov't making stupid laws and having US Citizen's pay the price for their ignorance.

It is impossible to predict the future ..

If one looks at the carnage of other incidents such as the shootings in various schools, etc, should we then say that all school kids should be armed to deter a crazed kid? Should everyone be required to pack a side arm whenever out of their home to deter overall crime?

No easy solutions ...

Gun bans are an attempt at an easy solution. Apparently the laws prohibiting guns in schools or soldiers carrying their personal firearms on base have not prevented criminals from violating those laws. The major at Ft. Hood was there to break the law. Additional laws and regulations were no deterrent to his actions. The same is true of the laws designating schools as "gun free zones". Those laws are a waste of time and paper as they are completely ineffective.
