I am truly sorry that he must endure lung cancer. Now is the time for him to resign for the good of the state- not because he has cancer, but because he and his hard core leftist totalitariansm are ruining our state.

Why did Lujan wait until today to make this announcement?

The first news release said Lujan was turning the Speaker duties to someone else. Now he is going to stay for the 30 day session.

On February 20 Lujan will probably announce he is "CURED" and will run for another term!

If I ever get stricken with a serious and almost certainly terminal disease, I can only hope that I will be able to face it with the same level of courage that Speaker Lujan has demonstrated. I hope for the best for him and his family in dealing with this.

He's trying to blame "working with asbestos" when he worked for Los Alamos - the guy has not worked since 1976. I hope it's not a money thing.

Wow the troll from Santa Fe either has figured out how to change his location or he has a twin.

Both have an illness called mentally ill or maybe senility.

As for agreeing, I don't think so, his head is not only full of crack but has a crack in it which causes his brain to seep out.

Over two years of chemo and still has a full head of hair?

Stage 4 cancer and will remain as Speaker?

I will believe it when I read his obituary

Could be a wig but from what I understand about chemo loss of hair is temporary and it grows back after a year or so.

Either way and all dislike of him by others aside it is a sad way to die, a slow death knowing it is coming.

If he truly loves and cares about New Mexico he would resign now, not after this session of passing silly laws is over.

No hate whatsoever, political or otherwise, just telling it how it really is! You can continue to view things thru your rose-colored glasses!

I don't like the guy or his leadership and policies at all but I don't wish this on anyone, regardless - no how, no way. Dislike is one thing, death is another.

I doubt your statement "the guy has not worked since 1976" is accurate, but regardless the damage asbestos can take a hell of a long time to appear.

Asbestos is one of the 5 major factors that can cause lung cancer besides the already well-known mesothelioma. In 1924, the first clear case of death due to asbestosis was published in The British Medical Journal. In 1930 Johns-Manville produced a report, for internal company use only, about medical reports of asbestos worker fatalities....Yet using the same tactics as the cigarette companies and climate deniers, it wasn't until 1989 the EPA announces that it will phase out and ban almost all products containing asbestos!

Naw, he should stay on indefinitely, just to annoy you as-hole republicans to no end. Maybe we could put up a statue for him, too, and make it of copper, so it shines right into the Governor's windows, too.

What a dumb reply, do you truly believe that old man annoys me, if so you need a head examination.

We have known all along he and his son are part of Pay to Play fat Bills inner group.

I hate to say it but although death happens to all of us and it is not always nice wishing that on anyone he won't be missed that much considering the lack of good things he has done over the years.

Other than lining his pockets and others with greenbacks.

It's more like you Democrats are crying that he won't be around to much longer, oh well what can you say other than hopefully a Republican replaces him.

Now that will truly annoy your donkeys.

That is all correct. Both lung cancer and mesothelioma can be caused by asbestos, and can take decades to develop after exposure. Mesothelioma is strongly associated with asbestos exposure while lung cancer has additional major risk factors including smoking and radon.

Stage 4 lung cancer, from whatever cause, is a pretty grim diagnosis. It's time to put the politics aside and show some respect and dignity, as the Governor and many Republican legislators have, for a man who is suffering from a grave illness.

How can you tell when a member of this Lujan family is lying? Their lips are moving.

I personally know members of this family, including the Sr. & Jr. parasites. They are arrogant, condescending (and believe me they have no reason to be looking down on anyone!), liars and thieves who believe that if anyone is stupid enough to actually believe them or allow them to steal, then the victim gets what's deserved! They are cunning like a fox in a hen house and will take this state and its citizens for as much as they can by hook or by crook.

Naw, some dope head or illegal alien or welfare scab would just steal the statue and recycle it down on Broadway. Now, make it out of the crap that these Lujans spout...
