Sounds like gossip. What do you mean "you're not at liberty? Is it a legal matter? Sounds like you know more than the clerk master does.

Economy has got so bad you cant give stuff away right now I'd suggest the IRS or who ever has the bar sits on it for a while. Isnt that illegal to bid and no be able to pay?? LMAO its a good thing that guy was on the outside betting cause on the inside things would not have went over so smoothly lol.
Why is the first auction Null and Void? Seems strange a property is auctioned but then posters say it's null and void. hmm

I would imagine that somebody raised the bid after the auction was over. With a court ordered auction there is a set number of days someone can raise the original bid. That's the only guess.

Well, Well, I always thought it was Gary and Joe Surber who ran the Starlight. Although it was back in the early 80's.

You might be able to get a "cold one" with a Asian Spa mssage at the same time. The man, Barry Nelson that owns the Asian Spa in Lake City has raised the bid. It is to be auctioned off tomorrow at 10:30 am on the court house steps. He plans to put a Asian Spa there.

LMAO... Well lets hope not, all that spa stuff used to happen outside for the ones that couldnt wait to get back home... I'll just be glad to step in there and have a drink.. I remember I stopped in there on my birthday and I had got my divorce papers on the same day and Fin said drinks are on the HOUSE. Lucky for him I dont drink that much, though I do enjoy having a cold one espically on the house :D I cant wait. Does anyone know how long it will take to get all the required bussiness licenses?

Here's the official word on both the Starlight and Silver Dollar.

Barry Nelson of Asian Spa fame raised the big last Tuesday to 63K (last day of the 10 day period to raise court ordered auctioned property). Final auction for the Starlight occurred yesterday on the County Court House steps.

The only two bidders were Todd Gilreath and Barry Nelson. The original auctioned price rose from 66k to 120K (includes a 10% buyers premium going Ayers Realty; they can no longer do any court ordered autions per the Chancellor of the courts - too much funny business.

During the auction at the court house steps Barry beat Todd out with the $120K purchase price.

So get ready for some type of Asian Spa sh&% that won't go over in Jellico too well.

Now for the history of the Starlight and Silver Dollar. Old man perkins built the current Starlight around 1970 and leased it to Andy Bill and Etheridge Baird between 72-74. Etheridge was shot by his wife Jane and could no longer run work and run it and they terminated the lease. Andy Bill then ran the bottom of the Hill Top (Down Under) and Jimmy Fontana ran the top (before Robert Silcox). At the same time Andy built the original Silver Dollar at the mouth of Wooldridge and ran it until the late 70's early 80's.

That's the real skinny!!
