Last Friday I purchased passes for some boys to go swimming at the aquatic center. This is my first visit there, I am from Louisville. When the passes were purchased, we went in to swim and the guard at the gate said that the boys could not swim because they did not have correct bathing suits. We went back to the window to get a refund and were refused a refund, but offered Rainchecks for another day. Since we are from Louisville, the raincheck does us no good. When I suggested that I would still complain to the Parks Director, Mr. Rob Poff, the manager on duty took back the rainchecks and used them to coerce me not to complain. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I can do to get my money back? We did not get to swim and the guard knew that the boys were not dressed properly and took money anyway. That seems dishonest to me.

Go to the Clarksville Aquatic Center in Clarksville, IN. It is much more friendly and the guards really do a good job watching the kids. Good Luck.

Read all the signs posted before entering an establishment. People do not read signs and blame the establishment. Most public pools do not allow street clothes. Suck up the loss and try the wonderful pool another day.

You can't always read the signs if your trying to watch your kids at the same time. Which is more important the sign or keeping your kids under control.

I live in Jeffersonville and am sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I have never been to the Aquatic center but have heard it was nice. It sounds to me like you should complain to the parks director Mr. Poff. I don't think the fact you could not come back another day is important. You should have recieved your money back due to the circumstances.

My kids and I go to Atlantis in Clarksville, behind Derby Dinner Playhouse. We love it. They have a wave pool, 4 water slides (use can use tubes) and a kiddie area. Life guards are great and many. The cost is around 7 - 8 dollars to get in but if you go on their web site you can download a $2.00 coupon for each person and use that. It is a couple dollar charge for the tubes if your child wants one but you get a small coupon back upon returning the tube so that you can apply it to the next time you visit. I havent seen anyone in anything other than swim suits so you might want to check on their policy before going. Have a good one~

I have been swimming at the Jeffersonville center for the last 3 years and have never had a problem. I always had 2-6 kids with me and have never been turned away. I think it is one of the best pools, and I live in Louisville. I think you should give it another try. If everbody complained about everything and they gave refunds than I think the park would go down hill. Take it as a loss and try it again. I highly recomment this park.

I went to the Aquatic Park in Jeffersonville Indiana and I feel that I was discriminated against due to my sexual prefrence and my race I will never go back there nor recommend any other gay people to. I felt that I was treated unfair and was terribly embarassed.

It is common sense that if you go to a public pool, you should wear the appropriate clothing. You go to a lake or a beach, you can wear what you like. There are no filters, or pumps like there is at public pools. Cut off jeans ravel and get caught in the pumps. Doesnt matter how many kids you have with you. Look at the sign before entering. They run the place well and the rules are there for a reason. If you dont like the rules, then go to a lake.

Come on...you want a refund because YOU didn't know you had to wear a bathing suit to a pool? Give me a break! Why would it be the job of the person taking your money to tell you to wear a bathing suit and/or trunks TO THE POOL? A lot of people change when they get there, if they took the time to tell every single person to make sure they have a suit or trunks it would take hours to get in. We've been going there since it opened. Never once have we had a problem but we also have never done something dumb like not wear a swim suit and blame the pool people for not giving a refund. And to blame your inability to read the signs on your children? Wow, you're really grasping for straws now. Hold their hands, put them on your hips, whatever- AND READ THE SIGNS!!! If you can't read, ask someone.

I was at the aquatic center on memorial day and it was the only time I have ever saw a problem at the pool. It was with grown men sagging! The manager called over the loudspeakers at least 7 times, no basketball shorts, swim trunks only! They finally had to come and ask some men to leave, they had on basketball shorts with underwear under them and they were sagging down under their butts. All you could see where their underwear. The men of course made a big deal out if, the same ole cause we are black bullshit. I guess it never crossed their minds that there are families with kids who don't want to look at your ass!!!! Way to go Jeff Aquatic Center!!! Keep the nasty bastards out. If you don't know to wear swim trunks at the pool, STAY HOME. We don't want to see your ass!!!!

How else would he know about Sun Valley? Sorry you're ashamed of where you come from.

Lol, you could not have said that any better. I know the Aquatic Center is a great place, especially for the "kids" not sagging adults... Tired of seeing it, there should be fines for sagging (indecent exposure)!!! I have been going to the aquatic center for a really long time now and there has never been a problem. If your upset about not getting your money back because you didn't read the set of rules posted at the door before you walk in and before you have to pay then it's not their fault. Don't try to blame someone else for you actions. You were wrong just suck it up, act your age and move on with your life.

Well all I can say if you do not have your kids in check then you have no business having them out in public thats the problem people letting there kids do what they want when they want and there is absolutly no reason why you could not stop and say If you want to swim bequiet and stand still we have to read the rules so it really does not take a geneous to figure that one out really so as far as the raincheck goes you live in louisville that is SO FAR AWAY OMG really nice excuss for real you buy tickets to Go Swimming and expect to swim in public with regular cloths really this is not the hood we wear swim trunks k just fyi for next time so glad you didnt get your money back common sence
