Long Lines at Chesterfield H1N1 Clinic - wtvr

My day in line at Chesterfield Health Department. I got there at 12 with my kids and grandkids. When I saw the line I almost said forget it. Then I thought the kids are off from school, Im here, the weather is good lets just get it over with. Dozens of children played in the grass, and trees. We had one incindent where a lady got upset because she said the children were going to break the limbs on the tree. They really did well considering the 4 hours that we spent in line. My daughter came at lunch time from work and brought hamburgers and fries. Moms watched each others children and saved spots in line for potty breaks. The snack machine didnt run out and there was still juice available in the drink machine at 5. All in all it was ok and maybe we wont get sick this winter.

What is not right is that these clinics may be useful for those who are at home, but none of the clinics helps those who have to work. I wanted to get the shot for my infant daughter, but my husband and I both had to work and by the time I could actually get there (even leaving work a little early) all the tickets were given away long ago (apparently shortly after noon). The other clinics are also scheduled during the daytime. I know I am not the only working parent out there and some consideration should be made for those of us who can not start standing out for a clinic at 8 am because we are at work.
