There are many other ways to cut costs besides removing programs. I hope that parents can rally together, along with school officials, to eliminate such discussion of cuts.

With a district hit by budget cuts and restraints in excess of 9 million, everyone should be looking for strategies to promote our youth in a more cost efficient manner in all areas, whether academics or extracurricular. Everyone should keep in mind, too, that what we do in education is all about our children.

I would say i have to agree with miss Beverly. It's not fair to Kershaw County schools that below Varsity sports should have to be cut. I am a freshman at Camden High school and i cheer on the JV cheerleading squad. Camden is already moving down to a 2-A school, and cutting our JV and freshman team will make this schools Varsity sports teams look very amateur, because of a lack of practice for the students who weren't on Varsity already. I think that instead of cutting sports teams we should be cutting back on some of the other things that aren't necessary that we are spending money on.
