278 Apartments at Thompson Mill and Spout Springs
PRUELY DRIVEN FOR FINANCAL PROFITS !
What a farce, no government representation!! After Council members heard strong opposing arguments against the apartments by those of us who live here ( none for it ) for degrading property values, nonconforming life style to the area, huge 4 story scale buildings 25 feet off Spout Springs Road, not to mention the unimaginable dumping of cars right at the intersection at rush hours; the only questions from Counsel members were: will the apartments have a pool, workout facility and gates. WHAT! Were you not listening ??? of course not. You don’t live here, you live isolated in Chateau Élan or Historic Braselton 6-7 miles away. Look at a map of the Braselton City Limits. My daughter is a cancer researcher. The city limits graphically and functionally resemble a cancer tumor. The cozy Chateau Élan or Historic Braselton area has it’s far reaching tentacles in one direction, due west drawing from the blood source in the Duncan Creek nutrient area $$$.
I guess Mr. Slovin, Chairman the Braselton Planning Commission summed it up how those in power feel about us to the west when he said ….”the plan looks at the KIND OF PEOPLE potentially moving into the area”……that’s how we are looked down on!
No shame from the Planning Commission recommending this rezoning change to the area previously identified as Commercial and Single family, the City Counsel and of course the Developers rolling their wheel barrower to Brand Bank, the financers for the project, just the devilish grin that they got away with it! What a said commentary on a community that touts it‘s self on quality growth………….it always goes back to “ those in power and the almighty dollar!
