I haven't had dinner there in quite some time, but the way the economy is and considering all the fast food places and the size of Abbeville to accommodate having these establishments it is little wonder it lasted this long. Sorry to see it go - as with all business that leaves - but it is a sign of these economic times.

I'm wondering if it is the economy that caused them to close. They always seemed to have a lot of cars there. HMM...

You must be joking. I would surprised to see that happen in Vermilion. Remember, the religious fanatics voted down poker machines and you think they wouldn't have a fit over a porn store? I'm surprised they still let the pink chicken survive

Inquiring minds want to know....could there be more to this story? Seemed to have plenty cars in the parking lot. Steady flow of customers the few times I went there. The food was "fair" at best. No where near like it was when Bert had it. That may have hurt some of their business, but they still had a "decent" crowd from the looks of things. The gossip tree will be shaking on this one, I am sure.
I must disagree

I see everyone agrees it was so great when bert had it, well, i don't. It was the same ole stuff all the time. The only thing different about when bert had it was a lot more really young waitresses. I think its sad when any business has to go . We are all living in really hard times right now. I pray for these people because starting a business in these times is very very hard.

True, the name "gentlemens club" always got me. It's more like "horn dog club". It's more like a
Perps club.

MYOB, you really wouldn't be there all day and night spelling words correctly if you would have went to school to learn the correct way to speak, read, write, and talk in the first place.

I'm sorry, but I just had to say this because that is an outrageous statement that proves how ignorant people are these days. I'm eighteen and I can type for goodness sakes.

Now, I came on this page for a specific reason, and that reason was because I wanted to know why Golden Corral closed down, being that the day before I had training and that was going to be my first day working for actual money. They were nice enough to hire me and allow themselves to be the second job I was currently working to be able to pay my bills. Sadly, I am still with my first job and looking for another to help out. What with some people quitting around town and moving to Baton Rouge to go to LSU and Lafayette's prospects looking a bit better I am not too worried.

Everyone, please watch your grammar, this is a representation of our parish. No one needs to see how low class some people are.

Daily Horoscope for December 21

Aquarius

Although you're still feeling sociable and outgoing, the Solstice brings the need for a little time to yourself now and then. It's time to temper your busy social life with some precious moments of solitude. Make sure you do, as this need is something important and life-enhancing. It will certainly recharge your inner batteries, which might be a little run down.
