The OSBI should change their acronym to OSBCMA, which would stand for, OKLAHOMA STATE BRUEAU OF COVER MY ASS. Jessica Brown did a pretty good job of that tonight.

My nephew Garrett bailey rice, of Buffalo Ok, was one such case, he was one years old and died while at babysitters home, he was healthy one year old, the osbi agent decided it was "SIDS" and collected nothing, this was Nov 4,2003.. on Jan 2,2004 autopsy reports showed the baby was given enough oxycodone to kill two adults...... but nothing was gathered for evidence, his bottle, his clothing, his bowl or his antibiotic container for ear infection.

Wow OSBI needs to get it together! I do think they need to come under fire for the unsolved cases. Way to back peddle there Jessica Brown, too bad that's not an Olympic sport because you'd definately be bringing home the Gold!

J.B's job is to present factual information in a clear, articulate manner to support the agency and their performance. To "spin doctor" and misrepresent statistics in an attempt to mislead is reprehensible. O.S.B.I. should hold her and others accountable for poor performance and show them the door! That agency is a joke?

People who KNEW the man that took Aja Johnson told them where they would probably find him and why. Instead, they followed what they considered leads from strangers wanting 5 minutes of fame. She was found where the people who knew the man said he would be and way too late. Maybe it's time to clean up the OSBI and fire all the relatives who can't get a job anywhere else and start hiring people who know how to do that job some of these cases could be solved. Right now they are a disgrace and a waste of tax payer money.

I have never been a fan of OSBI as I have stated on at least 2 different posts. However the only thing I can say in their defense is that in most cases local law enforcement have trampled over the crime scene before they arrive and possibly destroyed some evidence. But then again who is to say the OSBI would have found it anyway.

it's hard to put the total blame on the osbi, before they ever get called in, the stupid county deputies and sheriffs have already trampled up the crime scene, and the sheriffs have let the press in for photo ops

they were called into investigate my 2 cousins alleged molestation, the county cops arrested their father for molestation & tried to get the kids to talk & when they wouldn't they let him go. There was no investigation from the OSBI or the sheriff, he even admitted "the ball got dropped" on his end but never did anything about it! The kids had told 3 family members that NEVER got questioned as to what was said. A year later the mothers sister was killed & she got emergency custody of her niece & when the grandmother tried to take her out of her custody she told about the molester getting arrested but the court couldn't find a report or anything showing he'd ever been arrested!

What is the OSBI doing everyday? It sounds to me like they are too busy to investigate cases.

David Simpson was murdered in his home in Owasso, Oklahoma on May 15, 1987 (coming up on the 23rd anniversary). The OSBI was the investigating agency. They changed agents more times than I can tell you. I called every day for the first 6 months and nothing except attitude because they were tired of me calling. I continued calling over the next 2 years until I finally had to move on with my life for the sake of my two children who were left behind. I have called the OSBI on many occassions over the past 23 years to find out the status and if anything was being done except for dust settling on the file in the file cabinet and to no avail. They won't even return phone calls. My son who is now 29 and was 6 when his dad was killed has also called numerous times and it's always the same thing...we will have someone call you back and they never do! Do I have faith in the OSBI? Hell no! They give no thought to the family members who are left behind to deal with the tragedy with no closure. Supposedly, there was supposed to be funds in the stimulus package for Oklahoma for the OSBI to set up a task force to work on unsolved murders. I called to inquire about this and imagine this....never got a return call. I am so bitter because my ex-husband deserved better and his children deserve some closure.

The OSBI really have a problem with anyone asking questions of them and I do believe that an investigation is in order. I know the job isn't an easy one, but I think some real changes need to happen. There are to many cases (unsolved) thats the keyword, and to many families living every day without answers.

OSBI is nothing but a big jock. The woman talking on the news last night gets paid a lot of money to blow smoke in the air to anyone that will listen. My neighbor was accused of shooting a woman in the back. She admitted that she was in a nut house and that she had mental problems. The OSBI invested the case. They had no physical evidence that the gunman was in the car. They didnot even test to see if he had gun resdue on his hands. They had no gun and could never find the gun. The only proof they had was that the crazy lady said he shot her. when they went to court the OSBI agent that investigated the case was the lady's neighbor and the OSBI that testified for the defense sat with the district attorney through the trial. Now what is wrong with this. The woman didnot die which is to bad because he is crazy. Heck if I got shot I could point my finger at anyone and the OSBI would belive it. They gave this man 25years in prison just on this crazy woman words. There were so many things that the OSBI didnot investigate in this crime. So as far as I am concerned our OSBI department is a big jock. CB

If those people in the Aja case were so sure he was at that location with her, why didn't they go look themselves? They sound full of BS to me. Hindsight is 20/20. OSBI, nor anyone, could have done a thing to save that poor girl!

If you believe that every case can be solved, then you've been watching way to much CSI! Do I think there are problems with the OSBI? Sure I do... as with any intity there are always issues and people who don't do there jobs... but let's look at the cases they have solved. No investigative organization is 100%...(unless it's a show on TV) and many cases do take weeks, months and even years to solve, hence the term (and TV show) "Cold Case"!

Thanks to Jennifer Loren and the News on 6 for asking tough questions and holding the OSBI accountable. Any person who is responsible for investigating the death or disappearance of another should want the same honesty and thoroughness. Good work, Ms. Loren. Seek the truth!
