has anyone taken notice of how much this area sucks. I wake up everyday and wonder why I am here. I am moving to a real place where there is actually something to do and the people are real. I don't want to hear about how beautiful this place is or just move then because I already am going to move and this place is not that beautiful.

Get a hobby ! what is it that you want to do? VA is an hour away! Then you get to come home and relax without all the lights,traffic,trash and other BS that goes along with stuff to do. I appreciate everything disgusted and frank said. I'm glad that other people wish things would change on the obx. When I lived there, my two young kids were bored. I did everything I could to keep them content but there was only so much of the same thing that they would tolerate.

Only seven years? Quite a few of us have lived here all of our lives. The tourist industry is what keeps this place going. Im sorry but I dont whine about something that puts money in my pocket. I dont see where the tourist industry has harmed our quality of life...the tourists were here a hell of alot longer than 7 years ago. Instead of whining and calling people names on Topix maybe you should attend a town meeting and express your concerns to elected officials that have destroyed your "quality of life." Its going to be a long winter...suck it up or move to the next place you are going to hate. PROBLEM SOLVED! Was that intellectual enough for you?
