Teacher Punished For Drinking On Field Trip

I noticed a particular school board candidate bailed out when he started taking heat for opinions that weren't thought through.

Bet his campaign manager liked that. I see the press release now....."It wasn't him."

We made it... 51 8th graders, 5 adults, NO orangutan and NO beer... now that I'm home... VODKA!!!

LOL! Glad you survived! God love you for making the trip! I am too old and intolerant now...but in my day I could put up with those kids with one arm tied behind my back (the other one was free to hold the beer!) Enjoy your vodka!

i am one of thoes students who were on the trip, and the whole time i was on the trip i didnt see mr. neaher one time!....he did his drinking away from us. we were with our chaperones and his was off being a grown man, who is she to say hes not setting an example, he was enjoying a drink.,..as if she doesnt drink! its not like he was drinking and driving!!..we love mr.neaher and we wish that you would leave him alone with this nonsense,,now put that in your paper!

Mr. Neahr has been my director fo over 3 years now and I know him as a responsible adult and one who would never do anything to go against the code of condust. Sure it was a poor thing he did but still this proves that everyone makes mistakes. And to the mother of the snitch I wish I could say what I wish to but as an upstanding student I won't but I will say that she needs to learn to keep her openions to herself. I say this because of the fact remains that if Neahr is fired then the music program at Lee will likely die and the students that wish to continue the program like me will be deprived of this. So to her I say whatever and I hope ou realise what you have done in going against this choir. You proved that you want the music progrms of schools to be taken. Which to me is sickening.

Now, I know teachers are supposed to set an example, but so do parents, grandparents , brothers and sisters. So if your oldest son gave your youngest a cigarette, are you going to fire your oldest son from your family. Parents are supposed to be the biggest role models of all!!!!! Should our children be taken away because we got drunk at home. This teacher it seems is a wonderful teacher that chose to have a beer to celebrate his wanderful accomplishments. It does not sound like he had the kids with him when he went to get the beer, but they ( the students) at some point came up on him drinking a beer. Let's face it.. Duval County can not afford to loose any teachers, especially good ones.

You know there is not one person in here that is perfect.....I sometimes am amazed that people seem to forget tha know matter what your profession we are all still human. And no, I am not a teacher.

And to Mr. Moser you are a prime example why my husband and I bust our asses to send our child to a private school. I just thank the lord that we are blessed enough to do that.

Well, I am so sorry I confused you........The teachers are not the reason we put our child in private schools, that would be dick's like Mr. Moser that is running for a seat on the school board and the whole situation with the public school system ..........The teacher in my opinion did nothing that should cause him to be fired. Maybe his choice of having a beer at the park on a school outing was not the best choice, but it is sure not the worst choice a teacher has made.
