Please don't take this as preachy and holier-than-thou - it's really not coming from that point of view. That being said...

Don't the people posting here think that denigrating each other makes losers of both participants? If we can't post factual information as best we know it, doesn't it look spiteful and petty to throw verbal stones instead?

Look, it's really great to have an opinion based on some logical or even intuitive extension of fact, and to air that opinion, but this ... cattiness, for want of a better word ... does nothing but make the cat look stupid and vicious.

Please let's treat each other with respect, even if some don't feel others deserve it, because it hurts US when we are mean to others, even if we feel justified in being like that. If we can't win a debate through calm and respectful discussion, maybe we *should* shut down this thread.

I have never had anything to do with the fundraisers. I was a frequent poster in the forum that Verity created and she made me a moderator because she couldn't be around all of the time. Then I got lumped in with the bullshit that was going on but besides saying that I am michaela, which I have never said otherwise, in fact until my sister changed the name on here I was posting under the name michaela and I just got tired of changing it every post. You can say or think what you like but I never had anything to do with any fundraisers. at . all. Nor did I harass anyone or do anything stupid. Thanks though, in the words of someone else...nice try ;)
Ok, and you would like any of us to believe anything you have to say after you constantly twist your own words here? You were also posting on other Topix forums as Michaela-Believer. Believer is the person who "ran" with the VAB crowd.

Now, you SAY you didn't do anything wrong. You SAY things in your post that you would like us to believe. The things I have posted here are what I remember and also what others have told me, so who do I choose to believe? Myself and the others. What they have said, I have checked into and I HAVE been told the truth.

You can deny it all you want, that's fine, but I will ALWAYS believe the others as well as myself.

Hmm isn't this, in a way, the pot calling the kettle black? You choose to believe K, and all her so called "truths". You claim you've never met K and also claim you don't talk to her on the phone, but you all but refuse to believe anything we have to say regarding R. You are going by, supposedly, what you are told but don't know the whole story. How do you know your precious K isn't lying to you? How do you know your precious K isn't stretching the truth...

How do you "run" with someone they have never met? How does one lie to someone when there's been no conversation? Did I ever ask you to believe me, nope. I asked you to provide proof of your claims. You can't. I know you can't because your claims aren't true! I have talked to 'verity' and 'axiom' on the phone, regarding issues they were having on their forum. I have never harassed anyone, my contribution to trf forum was a thread with links to prevent child abuse, promote harsher punishment for child abusers, phone numbers to contact senators etc. I did not even have the internet when the harassing was going on, I learned of it a couple of months later when I logged on and found out about this VAB thing. I don't need anyone to believe me, like I said before I know the truth and you can't back up your claims. Have a nice night, I am tired of the b*tchy-a*s arguing, as I can tell others on here are too.

I can and WILL provide my proof when I see fit. My dear, I don't think you would know the truth if it reached up and slapped you in the face... What's wrong Michaela, can't handle the truth? You do and say things like your last sentence when you can't handle the fact that someone has called you on the carpet. Good night and sweet dreams.

I agree with you agape. I was/am posting factual information as best I know it and I am/was providing information to debate this case with what I believe to be a respectful manner.

Thank you for your words and I hope everyone takes them to heart.

And you guys say I contradict myself. LOL .
If you had proof you would not be 'waiting until you see fit' I could care less, even if I was all of the things you say, what are you going to do, spank me and take away my birthday? This is an internet forum so get a grip. I am just entertained by the hypocrisy.

I didn't condradict myself in anyway shape or form. But you know what Michaela, Random, Believer? Go ahead and think what you want, but I choose to believe that he/she who defends themselves excessivly is usually the guilty party.

I wish you nothing but happiness and joy today and esch and every day of your life. I mean that with the utmost sincerity. I'm tying to do as agape would like... and be civil and nice to each other, no matter if we feel the other person deserves it or not.

VERY VERY interesting! People with common sense and no sense of bias may be willing to accept the truth that doctors are only human and can make mistakes too. Unfortunately some people refuse to even consider this possibility. A doctor can have the best of intentions and completely believe what he is saying. That doesn't make it true, which is why it is always good it unvestigate further if in doubt. It was also interesting to see the example that was used. I couldn't help but make comparisons with Kaleb's case. No doubt random or someone of that sort will try to say its completely different. I am making comparisons because it is talking about what seemed to be a "perfectly healthy" boy, but he had something seriously wrong that could have killed him.... I wish that K would accept that it IS possible for the doctors to make mistakes, and maybe she should try to reserve her anger until she finds out ALL the information. Then she can direct her anger at whoever is responsible, or direct it at helping her boy get better. Its just so very sad.....

I never said that all doctors are perfect and never make mistakes. I believe they do, and I believe that it is possible that his pediatrician may have missed something but as far as his diagnosis etc. it is harder for me to believe that the numerous doctors, specialists and experts have all misdiagnosed him. As we can tell from the article what one doctor missed, another caught. Not saying it's impossible, this is just what crosses my mind when I weigh the possibility.

I very much agree with you on this.... Why more doctors won't take that extra minute to thoroughly examine someone is beyond me. I personally would rather pay the extra money for tests that may seem unnecessary and for them to find something, than to just be whisked in and out and not have a clear answer. It's happened to me before.

Also, psstt... before the typo police show up,(shhhh) you misspelled a word...investigate... you spelled unvestigate... LOL just thought I'd point that out... Just messing with you.. and trying to make some humor. Sorry if it offends you

And I'm just trying (not that well, either) to do what some truly great people have recommended. A couple of thousand years ago, a very wise and great man said (please forgive the length of this, I think you will appreciate it):

We are what we think.
All that we are arises with our thoughts.
With our thoughts we make the world.
Speak or act with an impure mind
And trouble will follow you
As the wheel follows the ox that draws the cart.

We are what we think.
All that we are arises with our thoughts.
With our thoughts we make the world.
Speak or act with a pure mind
And happiness will follow you
As your shadow, unshakable.

"Look how he abused me and beat me,
How he threw me down and robbed me."
Live with such thoughts and you live in hate.

"Look how he abused me and beat me,
How he threw me down and robbed me."
Abandon such thoughts and live in love.

In this world
Hate never yet dispelled hate.
Only love dispels hate.
This is the law,
Ancient and inexhaustible.

You too shall pass away.
Knowing this, how can you quarrel?

Let us assume the Pediatrician did miss something. That alone is enough to throw a wrench in the whole diagnosis. The specialist are basing their diagnosis on a child with a "Clean Bill of Health". See where I'm getting at? If the child was sick prior and the specialists were not informed of this........All they see is a child with SBS symptoms with no explanation for it all because the Pediatrician may have missed something.

I agree with this. My boy was in the hospital for another medical condition when he had his VI. ALL his symptoms were similar to K. Not as severe but similar. Another interesting thing to mention, my sons paediatritian recognised there was something wrong and he was treated immeadiately. If I was at home, I may have missed the initial symptoms or put down his temperature and lethargy to the vaccine or a virus.(High temps are common after a vaccine) He had classic symptoms of "SBS" he was diagnosed with a VI. The same goes with meningitis, and other viruses that can cause severe brain injury. My son and I were in the right place at the right time. His Pead is a senior specialist and on the ball. If I presented at the ER with my baby without any prior problems, he would have been seen by a registrar, and possibly sent home or investigated from the symptoms at hand.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Virgo

Be careful you don't wind up doing someone else's work today, Virgo. There are all sorts of little tricks to persuade you to take pity on them, from pretending to be ill to making such a hash of everything that you can't bear to watch for a moment longer. Then you are likely to be asked to put in some overtime, at the expense of your social life. Grr.
