That is exactly the reason I think she is responsible unless its proven to be medical! Selfish, self indulged child herself!

Something interesting is that the Schwades in 05/2007 agreed with an HCSO investigator not to file civil suit until the criminal trial was over. I wonder what changed?

What is so very sad is I can understand they were young parents and maybe didnt notice that he was very sick. I mean, parenting is not easy by all means... but why not just admit that yes, he was ill??

I sent Becky a letter and have told her about the civil case... I'm so happy that Becky is a TRUE believe in God because I know thats the only think that is keeping her going at this point...

Yeah? Well all I have to say to mrs "stalk worthy is enjoy it while it lasts because your true colors are starting to show through Kristy, and you won't have the supporters forever! Once the truth comes out not only will people see her as the liar that she is, but she will not be "stalk worthy" as everyone will already know the facts and know that she's been lying. also I find it funny her definition of being "stalked"! not that you would believe this random, but R had emailed a relative prior to being accused with just a regular update (which is what she did often). It was claimed that one particular email actually mentioned that she would watch a new baby for one day that week (then would continue the following week) while his mother went to an appt for an abortion. That probably won't come out in court unless they feel it was relevant to K's state of mind, but I do believe that she had an abortion. I do not agree with abortion, but would not change my friendship with someone ever it, as it is something they will have to deal with through God, but I do not agree with K misleading her christian friends. There is NO way she will admit the truth, but K actually had an appt for it, and that had been mentioned and documented prior to this case, just as general chit chat. Although R may not have put K's name in that email, it is apparent who R had been referring to.... Believe what you want, I have no need to lie about that, nor do I care if I am called a liar. Again, I know the truth.

Regarding the shaking: Doctors are trained in differential diagnosis, which means they look for causes based on observable symptoms, not just guessing or believing, like so many here seem to do. If Kaleb was sick due to an illness, the symptoms would differ from shaking in some ways that would give a different diagnosis. There really is no reason not to believe what the doctors say in this case.

Vomiting and listlessness are early symptoms of shaking.

Why would Kristy take Kaleb to the doctor if he wasn't sick, and why would R ask her to take him the day before his hospitalization if he was well?

The baby WAS shaken. That really isn't in doubt. The question is, who did it? Also, if it wasn't Rebecca, how can she be compensated for losing her job, her home, her children, and her freedom?

The trial should be interesting. I'm sure everyone will be glad when this is finally settled.

Hate to say this but it is in doubt with some of us. But one thing we can agree on is compensation for R if she is found innocent.

Actually I disagree. Doctors can currently diagnose what is termed as "SBS" based on the triad of symptoms. They are not required to give a differential diagnosis, and I am not entirely convinced that you are clear on how that term "differential diagnosis" is used. No offense but a PROPER differential diagnosis (the kind that has been referred to in Tuerkheimer's publications) is to rule out ALL of the other conditions that mimic the symptoms of (supposed) SBS by doing relevant testing. The methods of diagnosing SBS and the tests that are currently required to diagnose it, are significantly flawed and scientifically inferior. There is a big movement in the medical community with regard to opinion (now that the new findings and studies have revealed the faulty science behind diagnosing SBS) and methods used. Most doctors are not up-to-date on this information so would not have adapted their investigative methods to these findings. The fact that you even use the terms SBS or believe that it exists and the context in which you use the term "differential diagnosis" tell me that you have not done the research on this or are unaware of the most up to date science. Regardless of whether you support R of K I still believe it is important to inform yourself of the latest information if this is something that you are prepared to make such serious comments on it.... JMO. If you have not read the report yet (http://thecrimereport.org/2009/06/22/faulty-s... ) i would suggest that you do, and let me know your thoughts because I am interested to know how anyone can deny this study or ones with similar conclusions (try reading Dr Uscinski's studies and reports- there are many others!) "SBS" DOES NOT exist! Abuse unfortunately does, brain bleeds, and detached retina's do, but these are not things caused solely from shaking a baby, it would require some serious impact or trauma (including broken bones) THAT is what the latest medical science CONFIRMS as fact. Courts in many states are acting on that information as we all type!(I believe it was judge Lew Nichols (sp) who was the first to rule on it (being a dangerous, and inadmissible diagnosis/charge), and there have been several others to follow.....
