No sir I did not, I do not watch the national news, very little news usually. The kids just wanted to swim and have a good time, but no so-called adults on both sides just had to screw it up.

I thought a CONTRACT prevented exactly that "at-will" behavior. Signers to a contract have a first responsibility to fulfill the contract! If I sign a contract to give a lecture, then I better show up at the right place and right time with the agreed-on content. Why is private swimming.pool usage any different? So many buck$ for so much swimming! Is there a lawyer on TOPIX to set us straight on this point ?

Back on topix, you should know that if lawyers are involved with it comes to a contact loops holes will be found.

If the owner or representative feels that the contract is being abused its their call to end it. Not some public committee. This is about creating a lawsuit. Follow on who gets money from this.

Well...this proves that "white America" needs to recognize and be honest with itself and admit that it was never "on the hook." This clearly shows that some things have not changed. This is not some blurb in history from "slavery". This ignorance continues today....... no excuses made. i said IF those statements were made that was wrong. i think you fail to realize that wrong and illegal aren't the same thing. you can't legalize or legislate love, compassion or kindness. i wish we could but we have to be realistic. if a kid at a pool said something like that it's a reflection of poor parenting. the bar is low on that kind of thing obviously. it sounds as if the club overbooked out of greed. they did the right thing by refunding the money. since when is 65+ people in a pool ok? what about the safety concerns? is safety secondary to someone's feelings? i'm sorry you felt i was making excuses. not the case at all. i hope you'll join in on this discussion. i had a little snot nose girl make some rude comments to my child at the pool just this summer and i handled it with her parents directly. i don't play like that but i also let it slide the first couple of times because that is life you know. when i was done with them they had been outed for the low class trash they were.

Maybe because they were the group that the racial slurs and comments were directed towards. The "black group" were asked not to return after the fact. The other groups were minority as well, their day at the pool had not arrived. Please read the story.

You are correct in the fact that you can not legalize or legislate love...but then again, there is marriage...that's another topic. However, contracts are legalized and legitimate. This is a country club sprawled over 10 acres with a very large swimming pool and a separate/additional pool for kids. If safety was the concern, the contract would not have been signed giving them the right to access the facilities on Mondays. If safety was the concern, that should have been expressed right away and the last I checked telling a bunch of kids that "they will change the atmosphere of the club" was not expressing concerns over safety. Like I said before....It is what it is. As far as your kid goes......I completely agree. Always address the parents first, you tend to learn a lot about where the child gets their actions/thinking and learned behaviors from.

Always address the parents first, you tend to learn a lot about where the child gets their actions/thinking and learned behaviors from. the country club might have been on a sprawling 10 acres but the pool wouldnt have been larger than olympic size which is typical (same size youd see at the y or a city pool) to have a separate wading pool for little ones. did you see the news footage with people within arms reach of one another? who would want to be in a pool with that many people. they over extended themselves. some of the patrons probably did say things they shouldn't have and that's wrong. wrong and illegal aren't necessarily the same thing. example, if i paid to stay in a hotel that had a nice pool and i was enjoying the pool with other guests and there were numerous families already there and in comes a group of 65 all at once.......what i'd be pissed at mgt and wonder where in the world these people came from. thats too many people at once. that's more people than youd have in the pool for a swim meet. think about that!!!!! i agree contracts are legal and binding and they can visit whether their contract was broken and or whether they were adequately reimbursed. i can tell you (from what my white friends have experienced) country club members tend to think they're better than everybody else including other whites. if they don't know you and that you're also a member and rich then you're dirt to them. its b.s. but thats how it is. can the rule of law change that? no i don't think so. if you think so share how as a practical matter? again you can't make people decent and kind and mannerly. i wish you could.

I would sue the day care person who brought 67 kids to swim in a 75 by 25 ft pool, I guess they could have stacked them in like sardines.
