Georgia - Inmates Complain of Treatment at Clayton County Jail

....and 'conservatives' are out to conserve what
exactly?

It's interesting that while some of you believe inmates deserve to be treated poorly, others believe they should not. We all have to consider the human factor of incarceration (if there's any such thing) in that treatment stimulates certain behavior. If inmates are mistreated, society tends to the target of their ire once released. Our "Corrections" system sometimes come across as an oxymoron because in reality it punishes more than it corrects. This doesn't include the number of victims that are falsely accused and incarcerated. Some of us deserve less than the golden touch for misdeeds but basic human rights should not be denied under any condition.

my son is in clayton county jail,and he is very sick.he needs medical attention and they arent giving it to him.he has passed out twice last night and still nothing done.throwing up all night and the gards just watching him throw up.and doing nothing about it.im at my witts end and dont know what to do.

Maybe next time your son will think twice before getting his sorry arse thrown in jail.

Since you ignorant people feel that everybody is suspect, why won't you just kill yourself. Jail is surpose to rehabilitate people so that they can adapt in society not to turn them into animals so when they gain freedom they become wild animals. Say what you want about the inmates but understand you yourself could be one. Whether it's your first or thousandth time. What about all the innocent people that has been convicted for crimes they haven't committed and 20 years later tax payers has to pay for the mistake when they already paid for the trial. Be careful of your critical responses because you or your loved one could fall into those same issues.

Well I am a Former inmate from the Clayton county Jail and YE its true the conditions that we lived in were in-humane. As women we only got a chance to bathe once a days sometimes,there is mold in our showers,they feed u 2times a day and @5pm they give u a sack with 2 sandwiches in it an 1 cookie oh yea 1 orange!! I was pregnant when I was in there and one time they did a shake down, YES A SHAKE DOWN and decided to throw away my roomates pictures of her daughters and it was the only one she had then turned around and said Well I get to go home to my kids EVERYNIGHT & see my kids then proceeded to look my roomate in the face AS SHE RIPPED THE PICTURES OF HER DAUGHTER APART!! There were several Sergents there and There was one(Sgt.Gardener) who said to leave our stuff where it was,the correctional officer continued to proceed to rip the pics up. Then on top if that they took the food that we had just got for our dinner SACKS and trashed that too!! Like they didnt know we had just gotten that food!! They make u wear the same dirty clothes for 2wks and if they dnt fit when its time to get more cause they ran out of ur size they make u keep thedirty clothes that u already had or make u keep the clothes that dnt fit. I had an incident where Officer Davis(female) refused to open my cell door after the smell of BLEACH had lingered in my cell cause I ask the officer to close my cell door and she refused and I told her I was allergic to Bleach and she began to yell @ me I passed out she proceeded to call a nurse not a paramedic (remind you that I was pregnant) when the nurse(Nurse Peggy) got there she wved her hand in my face saying Oh Calm Down theres Nothing wrong with u!!! I wrote a grievence form on the officer NO ACTIONS WERE TAKEN!! I COULD HAVE DIED!!!! U know its funny cause Even when u tell them "WHEN I GET OUT IM GONNA CALL THE NEWS ON YALL THEY SAY THEY DNT CARE" One day the Officers had us Locked Down in our cells with OUT ANY WATER(I PROMISE) WE COULDNT EVEN USE THE BATHROOM IN OUR ROOMS CAUSE THE TOILETS WOULDNT FLUSH!! All of this was right before I was released on JULY 3rd,2010 they didnt even feed me befire I left and made me sit and wait for 2hrs to be released and they sent me to be released me 5-10 minutes before lunch. A ll I can say Is that ClaytonCounty Jail should be investigated by someone in higher authority than Sheriff Kimbrell cause he doesnt do his job either,My mom contacted him several times while I was in jail he never contacted her back thats why I want to SUE!! YES, WE WERE IN JAIL BE WE ARE STILL HUMANS EVEN DOGS @ THE POUND GET BATHS DAILY,WATER,DECENT MEALS,aND ETC... WE DESERVE THE SAMETHING IF NOT BETTER!! Thanks for ALL THE LISTENING EARS Oh yea one more things they cut the phones off on u if u tell anyone that isnt in jail whats going on or what they are or are Not DOING!!!

That sounds like you had a real bad experience there, Sounds like a place not to be at.

Your actually right again.
If you make a so called "mistake" you then get sent to "jail" A very bad place where you don't want to be, So, if you have any brains at all you will remember how bad it is and will not want to make that "mistake" again.

clayton county suck and can go to hell!
