Friday........

Good Friday Morning to you all!!

I am NOT going to be around today after this. My husband is going to Georgia for a one day business trip and he asked me last night if I would go with him. At first, I thought of a thousand reasons I couldn't go, and most of it involved housework. A little later, I thought "how long has it been since we just took off for the day together????"

So, I decided to go and am looking forward to spending the day with him. It has been FOREVER since we have done this!!!

This will also be the last time I may talk to you all before Thanksgiving. I am leaving Sunday for Nashville and Opryland Hotel with our daughter and won't be back until late Tuesday Night. This is a State wide BETA club convention for her and a MUCH needed break for me.....

Wish her luck. Her scrapbook she has worked so hard on for her school is up for judging. Last year, it won first place in the state, so they have a lot to stack up to!!

Of course I will spend my Wednesday beginning my cooking for about 20 people!

boy, about 9, opened the door.

'Is yer Dad home?' the rancher asked.

'No sir, he ain't,' the boy replied.'He went into town.

'Well,' said the rancher,'Is yer Mom here?'
'No, sir, she ain't here neither. She went into town with Dad.

'How about your brother, Howard? Is he here?'
'He went with Mom and Dad.

The rancher stood there for a few minutes, shifting from
one foot to the other and mumbling to himself.

'Is there anything I can do fer ya?' the boy asked politely.

'I know where all the tools are, if you want to borry one.

Or maybe I could take a message fer Dad.

'Well,' said the rancher uncomfortably,'I really wanted
to talk to yer Dad.
It's about your brother Howard getting my
daughter, Pearly Mae, pregnant.
'
The boy considered for a moment.
'You would have to
talk to Pa about that', he finally conceded.

'If it helps you any, I know that Pa charges $500 for
the bull and $50 for the hog, but I really don't know
how much he gets fer Howard.
'

Hvae a great trip today, SBM. What a great way to just enjoy the day with the luckiest man alive, your husband! Here's hoping your daughter wins a prize at the BETA convention. And since you will not be around until after T-day, may you and yours have a wonderful warm hoiday!

When I was little my folks and I would take what we called quarter trips. We would flip a coin to decide in which direction to head, anbd at each intersection, flip another coin to decide left or right. Sometimes, we ended up in boring places, but most of the time, we discovered something amazing, a spectracular view, a great place to eat, or a cool store. The point was to enjoy the journey and each other's company. May you and your husband enjoy your journey today.

I have off today and am planning to prepare the front yard for our Christmas lights. Woo Hoo! This is one of my favorite times of year.

Is it too early for lights this weekend since
Thanks giving comes so late?
I've gone green this year with my lights.
I've been buying up all the L.E.D. ligts for three years now and want to do ONLY led lights.
They cost more but burn only 5-10% of standard lights.(I'm quite the cheap bastard) ha ha

Hey taking a quick break, and no it is not too early for lights. We went with ALL led this year, too. BJ's has these genny light show ones, with big bulbs, cheapest price in town, and yes, I checked everywhere for them, they do all sorts of tricks and change colors, too cool. Between those and the c-6 white lights, it should be different this year. But, I gotta get back to my shrubs and roses and trimming before they can go up. I am re-doing the front beds coz they got overgrown, and it is more work than I imagined.

You guys enjoy this gorgeous day! The sun is shining, great temps, and just plain wonderful outside. We are going to build a big fire in the chiminea in the back tonight and have some friends over for dinner.

BTW, anyone try the Starbuck's cream liquer??? YUMMY!
