Review: Hollywood Club Canine

I purchased a poodle puppy for my daughter four months ago. We spent $250 on the puppy alone and received no papers for him and he had no shots. We were also told we could not buy the puppy unless we also bought a bed, food and water bowls, toys, and their recommended off brand of dog food (we were told the puppy didn't eat often - which changed when we bought different food that he enjoyed). The total was $370 (including the puppy). I would not have paid this much if my daughter had not fallen inlove with him and I hadn't been concerned to leave him. Shortly after buying him we had to take him to the vet for a case of kennel cough (which the vet says happens in dirty pet stores and puppy mills). Now our puppy is about five months old (we estimate because we were never given an age on him) and he is going blind. Although we love our puppy and will deal with whatever health issues arise, I would not recommend this group to anyone else. I also feel that this establishment should be under investigation.

I was down there looking at a puppy to buy and got to watching and seen her give a puppy shots that the owner brought back because it was sick. she is selling puppys as full blooded with papers. you can not have a full cocker and a full poodle and make a full blooded cock-a-poo it is a mutt. no matter how much you want a puppy, its not worth the hard ship that will come down road with buying a puppy mill dog. This store needs to be shut down with jail time. I have heard a lot of poeple buying puppys there then a week or so later the puppys are at the vets for meds or life support. please do not go there and look, that just makes you want one. and keeps her in business. check the newspaper or your local animal rescue first. ask you local vet or pet groomer about pet breaders.

I am the owner of hollywood club canine. Kristi has not contacted me for any paper work at any time. My food is not offbrand "diamond natural puppy" has no chicken byproducts or corn filler, sorry you had to purchase a food you couldn't get at walmart. the bed was the type that puppy slept on since it was born, it cost $10. the food $11. kennel cough is found in pet hospitals, boarding and grooming facilities, anywhere there are dogs housed.
Michelle the shot I gave was a followup puppy vacination, I offer at no charge all puppy shots there are 4 to be given 2-3 weeks apart for parvo,distemper.
The state vet just came this week to visit me with a trainee and asked if he could use my facility to show the trainee how healthy happy puppies should look and act like. I work all the day and part of the night caring for all my dogs, being recognized by the state as a top facility validates that my efforts do not go unnoticed by the trained eye.
I have a wonderful group of pet parents who get support from me and appreciate the love that goes into each and every puppy. Yes sometimes puppies get sick and i stand behind each and everyone.
Members of the humane society have been by and complimented me, my puppies and the facility.

By the way I don't raise cock-a-poos. sounds like michelle was never here. "designer puppies" I did not coin this phrase, are 2 purebred dogs bred together to produce a hybred such as malti-poo, yorkie-poo etc. papers come with these and are classified as misc. breed with the 2 breeds listed as parents. it's nice to have a "birth"cerificate for a puppy showing it's date of birth and which breed each parent is.

This kennel does advertise "designer puppies" right outside the kennel on a big sign. Give me a break.

i just bought a puppy from hollywod and was very impressed by the facility.
i got papers. the puppy got a vaccination right in front of me. i wasn't pressured at all to buy anything else, they were suggested but since i have owned many dogs in the past i passed on them....i WAS NOT PRESSURED at all.
barbara was very helpful even though the environment was very hectic with customers and puppies everywhere. this was understood and expected.
i did take the pup to my family vet for a well puppy check up and because he had diarhea, which can be expected buying froma breeder. he had Giardiasis and is being treated. no big deal.

this is all typical stuff after buying from a breeder.

i expect that kristi has never bought a dog from a breeder and possibly got a 1 in a thousand pup that was really sick.

to place all the blame on the breeder and start a campaign against a person who loves dogs so much and wants to give people a good experience with their new pets is just ridiculous.

but of course this is just my opinion. but my experience getting a new puppy was great.

it's not a puppy mill. a puppy mill is a clandestine operation where puppies are churned out and sold off to middle men where you don't who the breeder is. yeah there are a lot of pups at hollywood, but there are also a lot of employees and volunteers who take care of them.
a puppy mill would never let the pups run around the building playing and having fun. and yeah some are in pens, but not cages with no room.

think before you write the slurrs against someone when you don't understand how the business works. please.

i got a puppy from hollywood and it died tow weeks later, due to a common puppy problems.i had no problem with the owner replacing the puppy. the morkie i now have is almost 2 yrs a very healthy. i was very happy with the service i go.

I bought from Hollywood Club Canine and was very pleased with the place, puppy and service. I have carried him back for 2 of his shots(free) and will go back for a 3rd this coming week. I bought a crate but did not have to with buying a puppy.
I would go back again. The young ladies working there are super nice.

I just bought a second puppy from Ms. Barbara and both times I have been very well pleased. They are super helpful and nice and I think if you have to trash talk someone you need to grow up. It is never nice to talk bad about someone. Maybe say you weren't pleased with the service but never make harsh statements when you don't know what you are even talking about.

I live in north Alabama however I heard about this kennel through a friend of mine. I made the drive on a Saturday which was a very busy day since it was the week before Christmas. I looked through the pens and my daughter fell in love with a Cavapoo. We had to wait a bit to speak with Ms Barbra which was totally understandable, the place was crazy with last minute shoppers (like me). However once I had her attention she talked to me until every conciveable question I had was answered. She sold us the puppy at a very fair price considering how they could have been marked up before Christmas. She included all the things I would need to get started with the puppy, also at a great price. All the papers were included and thoroughly explained. I took home the most precious puppy ever that was the best gift ever!!
After reading "kristis" review I just had to write my own review because she could not be more off base... Now, here is the sad/amazing part. Our precious little puppy was with us for about 6 months with absolutely no issues until one day she chased a squirrel out into the street the same time a neighbor was speeding down the road....yes horrible accident to say the least! So 3-4 more months pass and my daughter is dying to get another puppy. I was almost too embarassed to call and ask about another dog but I did and here is the most amazing thing. She remembered us!! She did ask about the puppy and of course I had to relive the accident but she was so genuinely sad/interested in the whole story. She remembered everything about us being there even though the poor woman was being pulled in every direction. She knew as much about our puppy as we did, size of the litter etc... I was blown away!! We still have not got another puppy but if ever we do I can assure you her shop is the ONLY place I would go to get one. Yes she is busy and she is hard to get a hold of but it seem to be because she personally has her hand in everything!
And to the person who was spoken to harshly because she stepped on one of the puppies, dont feel too bad at least you weren't responsible for one getting run over!!

I have bought two shih-tzus from Miss Barbara and wow what a great experience. As I am used to the dog and horse world I knew not every competent breeder is a great "people-person"but Miss Barbara makes herself available to one and all in her shop,even those window shopping. My vet looked these pups over and said they were in excellent shape and totally fit. I have recommended her establishment. One dear friend is ecstatic with her purchase. Don't condemn what you are ignorant of and if you have an agenda say so. This place is great.

Either way anybody that sells puppies as a business either is a puppy mill or has to buy there from one. Either way, in my opinion, are the scum of the earth. What do you think life is like for the mothers of these puppies to be used over and over just to have more puppies. I think there should be a special place in hell for them!

Barbara has been nothing but helpful and kind to us during our saga to find 'the perfect puppy'. She steered us away from one particular puppy, saying she felt the puppy was too 'forward' for our home atmosphere. She recommended a totally different breed, and we couldn't be any happier. Our baby girl is in good / excellent health, according to our vet, and to quote him, "A fine example of the breed". Should this puppy become sick, I have NO qualms that Barbara will do 'the right thing'....I was not pressured into buying anything...in fact, we went there 4 times before making our final decision, and were welcomed each time. I know for an absolute FACT that one of the PetSmart trainers, a very knowledgable man, bought himself a puppy from Barbara, and proudly takes him to work as an example of a smart dog, properly trained.
Buy where you choose to buy, turn away if it's not what you are happy with.

Bought our Morkie a year ago. The owner is very "precise" and a bit pushy but I also understand that this is out of concern for her animals. She is obviously very knowledgeable and the staff are total pros. Our dog has had no problems and we love him very much.
I am a bit disturbed by some of the comments suggesting jail time and especially anyone wishing a fellow human to feel the suffering associate with "hell." That is a childish, immature and mostly hateful way in which to conduct ones words about another person. I assume this is coming from a "CHRISTIAN" which is exactly why they scare the hell out of me.

Hello. I bought a tea cup chichuahua from Ms. Barbara on July7,2009. I had a very good experience with her. She is really concerned and caring when it comes to her animals. My Bri Bri,that is what I named her,is a very healhty and happy puppy. She has had no health problems at all. I think this KENNEL,NOT PUPPY MILL, is a good place to buy your pup!! Ms. Barbara just needs to over look those who choose to make bad and very out of the way comments. God will deal with those who choose to so mean!!

i bought a poma poo from ms.barbara and i love my puppy she is in fine health and i take her every other week to be groomed there.her prices are resonable and they are nice . my family is now considering another puppy. i live an hour and a half from there but it is so worth it. i highly recommend them :)

Yes Ms Barbara has her own puppy mill in Morris Chaple,Breeds all her own dogs about 400 or so,if you seen how these parent dogs had to live year after year in a small cage just to reperduce every time they come into heat ,no one that love's animals would ever put any animal thru that ,now if you can buy an not think about where did all these puppy's come from,the bottom line for her is money.how do I know ? we live right down the road from her puppy mill, been there and seen it.Its not a nice site and YOU CAN'T HELP BUT FEEL FOR THE POOR DOGS ,THEY LIVE IN (FILTH )
